I’ve played golf with Mario, Pierre Larouche, Bob Errey, Pete Taglienetti, Mike Eruzione, Alexi Kovalev. I might be forgetting a few. Eruzione and Pierre were a blast. Oh, Dan Quin too. He was probably the best golfer but a jerk. The USA win was outstanding.
I never had to buy Penguin tickets. I got them comped.

You’re just butt hurt because the USA won, and the team is patriotic and attending the SOTU. Limp along now.

Hockey is the 5th most popular sport in America.
2.5 million watched the Stanley Cup.
27 million watched the Olympic gold medal game. Spin that however it makes you sleep better at night.
By the way, any Olympic player with ties to Minnesota did not attend the SOTU. Again, spin along now.

You say that as if Minnesota isn't part of the USA. How many times, if ever, have you ever left Pittsburgh?

More than you. I worked for 3M for 5yrs. I went there a couple times a year. They love hockey there. It’s probably #2. You wouldn’t know that. I’ve been to Canada more times than I can remember. I had a tryout with the Ottawa Rough Riders. But football is nothing there. Still have good friends there and go fishing north of Toronto with them. Hockey is by far the most popular sport there. And the USA kicked their asses!!!

BTW, since you don’t know anything about me you shouldn’t make silly comments.

You keep bringing up how popular hockey is in hockey towns, but completely ignore the fact that 75% of the country doesn't give a fuck lol.
Whatever dude. Hockey isn't even the most popular sport in hockey towns.

Hockey is popular in the northern states. Like where it’s cold. Frozen lakes. DUH. It’s very expensive to build rinks and rent ice time and buy all the gear. That’s why soccer is the most popular sport in the world. All you need is a field, a ball and a couple of nets. DUH. You keep ranting about the popularity of hockey. But you and Gristle haven’t congratulated the USA team for their historic win. That’s sad and pathetic.
Whatever DOOOOD

President Trump will bestow the Medal of Freedom to Conner Hellebuyck for his outstanding performance at the Olympics. The so called “experts” named McDavid the MVP of the tournament. He was minus 3 in the last two games. And choked in overtime. But this is much better. Hellebuyck has the gold medal with the Medal of Freedom to go along with it.
“Yes, Connor Hellebuyck will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his outstanding performance as the goaltender for Team USA during the 2026 Olympics, where he helped secure a gold medal victory. President Trump announced this honor during the State of the Union address.”

BREAKING: Team USA's 2-1 overtime win over Canada averaged 20.7 million viewers and peaked at 26 million live viewers for the game-winning goal.
That makes it the most-watched pre-9 a.m ET sporting event in U.S. history.

President Trump brings out The US Hockey Olympic Team
“Our country is WINNING AGAIN, in fact, we’re winning so much that we really don’t know what to do about it. People are asking me ‘please please Mr. President, we’re winning too much. We can’t take it anymore.’ — I say, no, no, no, you’re going to win again, we’re going to win BIG!,.”

Team Canada lost with arguably the top-3 players in the world on the ice. Instead of pointing fingers at the format, point them at McDavid for trying to make a selfish play, MacKinnon for getting outworked, and Makar for a lazy backcheck.
The USA was the better team. They executed in pressure situations. Jack Hughes got his teeth knocked out but didn’t miss a shift and buried the game winner. Good ole American grit and determination. Canada didn’t have it.
