he quoted a bland nothing burger statute show me what it proves if NATO A attacks NATO B

it doesn't define the What IF?

And you quoted less. 1 nothing burger > not quoting. Poster 1. waco 0.

As for somebody paying back the USA. You seem to forget all about the cold war. Greenland/Denmark had a request to put bases there. Uncle Sam wanted to keep an eye on Stalin and such. Greenland could have said "no". Where would that have left us? No warning of attacks until it hit the Dew Line? We would have been blind and the Bear would have been on the back porch before we knew it. It would have cost shit tons more without those bases. Somebody mention cooperation here. It seems to have worked for everyones benefit.

Oh. He likes to deflect.

And who is the source of this whataboutism? That source could make this more meaningful converstation.

And Truman offer shows what I said about us wanting to protect our back door. A compromise to out right purchase was made. Seems to have worked this long. Don't break something if it ain't broken. And at this critical time, any improvement can wait till a better time.

No. now is the time before time runs out

Trying to do a take back? Don't be salty like your buddy NaCl-y. A fair deal was made between Denmark and USA to trade and respect each others soverign territories. That agreement states words to the affect that the USA "not object to the Danish Government extending their political and economic interests to the whole of Greenland"

Oh, you don't need to explain that. The link supplied stated enough. Some people just can't accept it when they can't find anything to counter it. They would do better with their time writing their congressman than whine on a hooker board.

The link proves more than you offered. Ruling in favour of Poster for the event that waco offered zero, zilch, nothing.

Dang....even Breitbart gets it...

Breitbart Business Digest: Why Own Greenland When We Can Lease It?

https://www.breitbart.com/economy/20...-can-lease-it/

Quote:
First: consent. Greenland is not a fungible asset Denmark can liquidate. Modern politics makes the point plain: whatever Denmark’s legal sovereignty looks like on paper, Greenland’s people have to consent to any arrangement with legitimacy. A deal that treats Greenland as an object rather than a party is not “bold diplomacy.” It’s fantasy—and it would backfire.

Second: sovereignty transfers are rare for a reason. Selling territory invites nationalist backlash and poisons alliances. Push hard enough and you don’t just annoy Copenhagen. You give adversaries a wedge to drive through NATO. We don’t want to be fighting against Greenlandian nationalist separatists or pushing patriotic Greenlanders into the arms of Russia or China.

Third: purchase would drag America into a constitutional and political morass it doesn’t need. If the United States “owns” Greenland, the pressure to clarify political status begins immediately. Statehood? A territory arrangement? Representation? Two senators for a population smaller than a mid-sized U.S. city? Years of argument, lawsuits, and domestic fights—none of which advance the core strategic objectives. Plus, given Greenland’s politics, statehood would more or less guarantee two more Democrat senators and three more Democrats in the House, not exactly something President Trump wants to include in his legacy.

Fourth: ownership isn’t necessary. The United States doesn’t need to govern Greenlandic domestic or even foreign affairs. It needs long-duration basing and infrastructure rights, a stable legal framework for strategic minerals, and the ability to monitor and secure the Arctic approaches. Those aims are achievable without the baggage of sovereignty.
If purchase drags the US into a constitional/political morass, how much bigger hole would a 'takeover' put us in?

Why is this even/still a fucking topic for discussion.

Can’t you all see Trump is BSC? That’s the only explanation for his continued ruminations over Greenland.

If you’re with him on this, then you’re no better.

The TDS of all donnys staff about this, using the same old sound bytes that they probably got at their last closed door meet, is off the scale.

Like, how the fuck you gonna pay for something when you got nothing in the tank and it is falling further into debt? Thank Doggy for that.

I thought the idea was to surround Canada and then swallow that country as well.
The bigger issue is all the new voters we would end up with would vote for someone else.

LOL!
OMG! That was FUNNY!

Over hundred years ago, USA and Denmark made an agreement to respectively honour each others territories. Greenland was agreed to be Denmark and the Virgin Islands was give to USA.

Leave it to the fart of the deal guy to renege on it.

Fifty years from now, historians and political science analysts may well find fault with the presidential city and policies of President Trump.

However, it is my firmly held conviction that they will find that Joe Biden was mentally and physically compromised . . .and in fact not functioning as the nation's chief executive.

And offer another ten billion to Denmark if they also take Puerto Rico.

It would be money well spent in my opinion.

While I agree that Biden was aged compromised, so was Reagan…..and Trump as well. And, an few other Presidents as well.

It’s what happens when the American public keeps voting for elderly candidates. It’s part of what you accepted when that voting lever gets pulled….

Well, I have co-workers who reside in western Canada and AI youtube videos by Russia or China can convince you if you want. But from personal conversations they have stopped buying American, stopped traveling here, and have an attitude now of they wouldn't piss on America if it was on fire...oh wait, it is on fire some just refuse to see it.

PR has been wanting their own independence longer than I can remember. Guess no one remembers when a bunch of people shot up the House back in the day.

More Trump veiled (and not so veiled) threats....

I’m not talking about money for Greenland yet. I might talk about that but right now we are going to do something on Greenland whether they like it or not because if we don’t do it Russia or China will take over Greenland and we are not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor. Okay?”

“I would like to make a deal the easy way, but if we don’t do it the easy way we will do it the hard way.”

“And by the way, I’m a fan of Denmark. I have to tell you. They have been very nice to me. I’m a big fan. But, you know, the fact that they had a boat land there 500 years ago doesn’t mean that they own the land. Sure, we had a lot of boats go there also,

“So we will be doing something with Greenland either the nice way or the more difficult way,”

Why does Trump not just use existing treaties to expand military presence in Greenland at a much lower cost...financial, political and relationship...than this belligerent bullshit?
