And this post is proof that maga republicans are deluded or in deep denial. Chaos reigns in Washington as Trump destroys the rule of law, the economy and free speech.

Seems you've managed to live thus far.

TBH: The thread is not about Trump or the economy. It's mainly about politically engendered chicken littles screaming: the sky is falling...the sky is falling, with constantly exploding heads, on command, from the mothership, thus disregarding new opportunities that may be revealed.

I think you forgot the whole: The sky is falling...The sky is falling bit.

But thank you for validating the letter, intent and spirit of the OP posting in it's full throated fashion.

I find this passage from a David Brooks article relevant to the topic.

George Orwell is a useful guide to what we’re witnessing. He understood that it is possible for people to seek power without having any vision of the good. “The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake,” an apparatchik says in 1984. “We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power.” How is power demonstrated? By making others suffer. Orwell’s character continues: “Obedience is not enough. Unless he is suffering, how can you be sure that he is obeying your will and not his own? Power is in inflicting pain and humiliation.”

This sums up nicely the dread many people feel about the current administration. Putting your head in the sand and ignoring the obvious is a sign of the MAGA party.

If so, then this thread doesn’t belong in this forum.

In fact, based on how you describe it, it doesn’t belong on ECCIE.

Seems as though you’ve painted yourself into a corner, WYID. One of the many such occurrences.

Curiously enough, you never even considered that it is possible he could have been aiming at a different group, such as one that believes:
  • Burn it all down
  • No voter ID required
  • Censoring free speech
  • Wide the hell open borders
  • Joe Biden is a Galaxy Brain
  • Fiery but mostly peaceful protests
  • A government disinformation board
  • Spending tons of other peoples' money
  • Men should compete in women's sports
  • Shut down the entire economy on a dime
  • Hunter's laptop is Russian disinformation
  • Kamala Harris was the 2nd coming, no primary needed
  • Thouest shall be vaxxed to the max and wear face diapers
I think it is possible that I would look there first and exclusively. Because one finger pointing at another yields three pointing back at one's self.

I do believe the "many people" are still struggling to understand they are now in the minority. Sorry for your losses, but you can still read the Right ON, Left OFF thread for free.

Hat tip for the "dread" tie in to the OP, i.e. Why the sky is always falling for some. Nicely done!

Default It's not pretty to be petty

Didn't we just have a chat about clearing up your arbiter roll versus your like minded-opinion troll gaggle? Rings a bell leastwise. Are ya'll sitting around in a seance circle in your Troll Power t-shirts, burning black candles or something? Or was that in another thread? If so, my bad, but it is still relevant here.

I can't help it if Demonicrats are Fugly, according to science, let alone why their hair is always on fire or why the sky is always raining down upon their heads. But none of that doesn't mean there is ZERO common ground somewhere on some things.

Heck fire, even Bill Mahr saw the light recently.

Seems like you're just whining in your spare time in this thread.

Lot of grievance for a winner, eh?

Default There's room an The Inn

TBH: The typical TDS, TDS, Orange Man Bad, TDS, TDS threads are kinda dull and tiresome. Plus I rather like curious oddities and science.

But I get it, it must be frustrating to overlook the timber in your own eye, while probing around for specs in the eyes of others.

Anyways, the sun is coming up in a bit, so now the sky can fall down on ya - all over again.

It’s safe to say this thread has devolved into a Seinfeld episode. A show about nothing.

The OP poses the question but is not interested in our answers. He appears to only be interested in denigrating others and blaming our views on Trump derangement syndrome.

The truth is at least half the country doesn’t like the direction we’re heading in and it’s only going to get worse.

Republican Pollster: More Americans Think Trump's US Taking Wrong Direction

“The problem for Trump is that the reality isn't exactly living up to the hype. Peace in Ukraine and the Middle East is proving to be far harder to achieve than the real estate deals envisaged by the president, while the bludgeon of tariffs is raising ever more opposition among erstwhile allies. The promised domestic boom seems as far over the horizon as ever, and the suspicion among an increasing number of Republicans is that 47's delivery may fall far short of his promises."

This thread should be closed because it is becoming increasingly clear that the OP just wants to bash the opposition and not to have a real discussion about the issue.

Well... at least you have an opinion.
What else do you have, that everyone else has one of?

Let's take a stroll down memory lane.
Raise your hand if any of these phrases sound familiar:
  • our biggest fears have been realized
  • Dark days are here now
  • many many people don’t trust Trump’s Instincts
  • The sky has fallen
  • Chaos reigns in Washington
  • Trump destroys the rule of law
  • the dread many people feel about the current administration
  • The truth is at least half the country doesn’t like the direction we’re heading in and it’s only going to get worse.
They were all posted by you, just in this here thread. Imma could be wrong, but those sure sound like the clarion call of doom, gloom and falling skies. I might dare say; the throws of Fugly even.

You seem caught up in a trap, that you can't get out.
Maybe you need a new (old) theme song. Try this one on for fit:

Right you are.

Trump is absolutely bringing the sky down. And Republicans are getting fed up with it.

And this thread isn't a discussion or a debate. It's a - dare I say ...

It’s as if you started this thread with the sole intention of getting people to tell you of their anger and frustration with the actions of the new administration, then dismissing all of their concerns with a statement that they must be crazy, TDS, TDS, Orange Man Bad, TDS, TDS, then basically telling them to “quit your bitching and take your medicine”.

As I said before. This thread should be closed because it is becoming increasingly clear that the OP just wants to bash the opposition and not to have a real discussion about the issue.
