That was also one of the biggest predictors of political ideology. So, the conservatives were much higher on these meritocratic beliefs than liberals were.”...

I don't think is a law the says it only even goes one direction. Some folks take the opportunity to buy. Others hold. Some panic. You decide.

But, the thread is not about the stock market. Though ironically, ya just kinda proved the point.

Correct. But I do find it amusing that the same people who point at the market when its doing well to show how great we are doing are tap dancing and making all the excuses in the world when its not. Own it both ways.

I flat out said that once it at least returns to January levels-- I'm good. But I also have a family member who is less than 6 months from retirement who is in an absolute panic-- for good reason.

Well in my opinion the point of this thread is basic proselytizing for the church of MAGA and its leader Donald Trump.

They want us to turn off reason and thought and fall in line. Drink the kool-aid in layman’s parlance.

By doing so we’ll suddenly become happier than we ever were as liberals opposing them.

What it comes right down to it is the fact that they don’t understand that our biggest fears have been realized. The fact that our country is now being destroyed by an idiot narcissist and his subservient henchmen.

Dark days are here now. When Mike Johnson was questioned about Trump’s tariff policy I almost wept. His response. “We have to trust Donald Trump’s instincts.”

Well I can tell you that from the precipitous drop in the market that many many people don’t trust Trump’s Instincts.

Yet again... Not a thread about the stock market or even investing advise. If it were, I would say there are 3 sound choices:

• Buy
• Sell
• Hold

Though timing is everything and PANIC is your enemy, which, ironically enough, is what this here thread is about.

IMMHO - the time to shuffle your portfolio was the day Biden was forced off the DNC party bus and Kamala was installed, i.e. not elected, to the front row of the bus.

Regardless, the below is super solid investing advise and also a fine primer on how to avoid hijacking a thread.
