I read the boards not only for occasional entertainment, but also to get tips and advice about the hobby. I like to read everyone's opinions and POVs because it helps me. I will most certainly use a similar statement as the one you posted LD next time someone tries to take advantage of my time. I have strengths and weaknesses like everyone. One of my strengths is I have an open mind and take advice and constructive criticism very well. One of my weaknesses is I'm not very assertive and I let people take advantage of me because I do not like confrontation. So, yes, in a way it was my fault for letting someone take advantage of my time. But I can assure you, this gentleman did not want to leave and stayed as long as HE WANTED TO. Maybe I could have handled it differently, but I did as much as I felt was right at the time. Advice like yours is why I read these boards. So next time I can try something different if someone else tries to do this.

And I agree with Slave. I love a strong woman. One day I will be as assertive as that, hopefully. Hehe!

I try to explain it at times. I actually do understand it from a time I worked supporting a Rape Crisis Center and a Battered Women's Shelter many years ago. I've had a lot of first hand meetings and discussions.

Personally, I think the trick is to tell yourself that you are strong and in control, that your voice IS going to be heard and that no one is going to do anything to you that you do not consent to.

Once you've convinced yourself of these things, you'll be able to convince others.

Unfortunately, there is exactly zero chance that you will be able to change that segment of manipulative, and inconsiderate clients into something more palatable. You might be able to avoid some of them through screening, but chances are you will still run into them from time to time.

It is up to the individual provider to understand that these types of clients are an unfortunate reality in this business, and to control how they deal with those clients. Make sure your lines are drawn clearly in the sand, take care of yourself and your business, first and foremost.

Stay safe out there.... this is a tough business. More so emotionally, than physically.

And cara I understand not all girls feel comfortable confronting a man. I personally have no problem with it. Seeming like u think your tough enough to fuck someone up even tho your tiny can really psych someone out. Thank you Gina and Nikki. As I said, this is a weakness I am working on. I have seen girls that are assertive and carry themselves in a way that says "Don't mess with me", and I admire those girls. However, everyone is different in their own way. I am a very sweet lady and avoid upsetting anyone if I can help it. I am strong in my own ways. And just to be clear, I would never LET someone hurt me. I may not be assertive, but I'm not stupid either. Someone taking advantage of my time is much different than someone trying to physically harm me.
And yes Gina, I agree, you cannot change that segment of clients. This is the point I was trying to make when I said I appreciate a lady posting about a guy that takes advantage of or wastes their time because I personally would like to just avoid those types of guys instead of dealing with them.

Sweet natured women like you should be able to be without worrying about the wolves, but unfortunately that is not the case. Just start by being more assertive. If people know you are serious, they are more likely to take you seriously.
