proportional voting is not a sure thing.

you'd still get the EC Vote win/popular vote loss, it would be extremely rarer. than the current version of EC which produced 4 results.

I'm curious to see if anyone has done any research on using the proportional EC vote in past elections from 1790 to 2016. the ecv numbers would likely be different. would it result in more spoilage throwing the election to congress? there were alot of 3rd party candidates influencing elections to a certain degree up until the early 1900s. they ceased to be influential after that. once in a while they do have an effect as in the case in election 2000, and 2016.

I see that I think it was michigan or wisconsin, dems managed to knock off an indpendent party that cost them votes in 2016 on a technicality, the person had to sign the papers in person, that candidate (I forget it who it was; might've been Green party) failed to show up and sign in person.
