"Hypothetical" Scenario of a Dual Identity
So Let me pose this "hypothetical":
Suppose I receive in my email a notice from the auto forwarding from ECCIE that someone replied to a thread in which I had subscribed. As you all know , the message posted is in the email as well. I click on the ECCIE link and it's not there. Hmm?? I scratched my head. I guess the poster is one who can delete posts and decided to delete it immediately. I didn't think too much of it. Until.....
Now suppose that a few hours later that same post is back, but now it is posted by a different Handle. However, it is the exact same post -- word for word including typos. Now that sure is odd. Since I still have the email, I double check , and sure enough -- same post , but two different posters.
Then I look up the other posts of these two posters and they have similar writing style , shared interests, and are obviously the same individual. Now it appears that the reason that the initial post was deleted is that the poster forgot which identity he had used to make the post. He screwed up, used the wrong alias, deleted, changed to the other Handle, and made the same post hours later.
Does that concern anyone?
And the kicker.... the first poster is a guy with paid premium access, and the second poster is a provider.
Now does that concern anyone?
What do people think about this "hypothetical"? Not being the boat rocking kind of guy, I thought that I would solicit opinions just in case this situation ever happened to me......ahem

DT,
I think that just proves what we have known all along. Even if the Mods take the information and ban both handles I don't know if they can stop them from creating new ones and doing the same thing.
It is certainly concerning though....and should destroy the providers credibility immediately with this community.

Thanks Jack,
I assumed that I was not the only one who knew about this since the posts were part of a 13 page thread , and thus, numerous other people must have received the same auto generated emails with the deleted post in it. I will leave it in your capable hands.

Agreed HP.
In these political days of full disclosure and transparency (just kidding), am I wrong to request these handles be made public? We can attain a higher level of assuredness that what we read and comment on are correct and do not have an ulterior motive to questions asked or answered by a hobbyist / provider if they are in fact the same person. I understand the hobbyist can get a new handle and we may never know, but the provider would be known and we would all be able to make an informed decision to see her again or not. This site is about all information, sharing opinions and being safe. Knowing this, now brings up more concerns about whether info shared is truthful or not. So I believe the handles should be exposed.

I agree they should expose the dumbass and move on. People can then decide for themselves if they want to continue to support this person...or toss them aside.

I would have simply kept the information to myself. Which would then allow me to beat the dual identity poster(s) over the head with it using snide, biting comments that usually were only understood by him/her, while everyone else thought i was just being a jerk.
But that's just me.
