In Corpus there are several nice places on SPID (hw358). Easy to get to and not too far a drive from anywhere in CC.

Lightbulb Hotel Advice...

I have only been to McAllen once and Corpus Christi several times. The following are my suggestions.

Casa De Palmas Renaissance McAllen Hotel - I LOVE this hotel. It's nice, clean, has 2nd floor access from the parking garage, an easily accessible fitness center. The front desk is off to the side and is no where near the elevators!

Staybridge Corpus Christi - While I have stayed at this hotel many times, the evening desk clerk is a bit too nosey for my liking but the late night desk clerk is very friendly. If you check in before 11pm, be prepared to answer her nosey little questions such as, "What brings you to Corpus Christi, what is the name of your company, do you have a business card, why don't you have a business card, etc.?" urgh!

Holiday Inn On Oakhurst - Corpus Christi
- I like this hotel, but I took my own towels and sheets to wash while I was there (I'm just slightly type A) and had my last load of towels stolen out of the dryer. When I told the manager he said, "yes, these things happen." urgh!

Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort - North Padre Island
- AKA "The Poopy Hotel", this hotel has easy beach access but is not clean!!! DO NOT mistake this Holiday Inn for the above. I know, I know, traveling girls want to enjoy the beach while in Corpus... stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and make the drive!

Courtyard Marriott - Corpus Christi - The Courtyard was nice, but I like to have 2 double/queen beds in my room and so when I got to my room and had a king size bed I called down and asked if they had any rooms with two beds and they told me that because I booked through Priceline they were unable to fill any special requests. THEN I opened the cabinet where a small refrigerator should have been only to find a blank space... urgh!

Hilton Garden Inn - I just plain like this hotel. The bartender can mix a good lemon drop martini, the pool area is in full sun for the majority of the day and the hotel is set up for conventions and is highly traveled so the staff isn't too aware of your comings and goings. It is located on the South Side of Corpus Christi and is easily accessible to most hobbyists. There was a girl who was popped at this hotel due to her lack of screening, not because of the hotel and/or its staff.
