House of Cards is really good, next season is coming out in Feb I think.
If you like that you'll like the West Wing I think, political drama. Not as sexy and dark but good.

I hear Orange is the New Black is good too but, I haven't seen it yet.

Dexter is good too. Serial killer who kills serial killers who is a cop.

If you like games and 8-bit cartoons, Code Monkeys.
Archer is hilarious cartoon, same voice who does Bob's burgers.

Walking Dead and Breaking Bad you can't go wrong. Must see shows

Mad Men, just to round up the AMC shows.

Battlestar Gallactica is a really great series if you like sci fi, won a Peabody award.

Firefly, another sci fi show. it only lasted 1 season before being cancelled. Got a huge cult following afterwards, so much they made a movie called Serenity.

Weeds, housewife starts selling weed to make money after hubby dies..

Wilfred, Elijah Wood sees his neighbors dog as a real person, none else sees it

Lost, its like 6 seasons 120 episodes or something and will take some time to get through but, good.

Fringe, thats a good one that had a short run.

The Tudors, one of my favs. Follows Henry the VIII, all his wives, sex, drama, good one

And last but not least Sons of Anarchy.

As for movies too many to list. Real quick though, original Oldboy is good. Dale and Tucker vs evil is funny.

Fuck I watch too much tv…

Theres a bunch on HBO but, can't get them on Netflix

American Horror story is really good. Just finished the
1st season. If you like super hero stuff Arrow (Green Arrow) is pretty good.
I am trying to make time to watch Breaking Bad.

For the majority I like foreign movies/crime series, so yes, for the Swedish/Norwegian/Korean films you will need subtitles.

These were not listed in any particular order but I do suggest Helen Mirren as first, as I believe she is never meant to be last.

Political Animals - only 1 season, almost as good as House of Cards

Prime Suspect - Helen Mirren British crime series -outstanding

Annika Bengtzon - Swedish Crime series - outstanding

Centurion - very very good story about Roman centurion in Ancient Scotland

Swimming pool - wow

Queen to play - GFX you may really like this - woman held in place by marriage, station and culture struggling to find and be herself.

Foyles War - British crime series set just before, then during, and after WWII

Luther - another wow British crime drama where a Detective's best friend just happens to be the sexiest serial killer you are likely to meet

Killer Girl K - Nikkita in Korea - very hot women excellent martial arts

Henning Mankell's Wallander - Not the British Wallander which is shit, but the Swedish series which is THE shit. This has the true persona and Swedish culture necessary to the narrative.

Dragon Tattoo Trilogy - the Swedish story very closely filmed to the original storyline. With an extended version that was left out of the Swedish theatrical releases.

End of Watch - very rare that a movie or much of anything that can make me cry other than getting hit in the nut sack. This is like getting hit in the nut sack.

Borgia - about the Pope, his sons and daughter, his ex-wife and current lover while serving the greater good of himself rather than God. Enough cynicism for everyone.

Headhunters - Norwegian story about Art crime. Riveting, disgusting, funny

This list will keep you busy for a while and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I would also appreciate your feedback.

I loved Political Animals. Ciaran Hinds was great as Bud Hammond, obviously patterned after Bill Clinton.

And the Russian Victor Porchoff, played by Igor Jijikine. "You have balls. I respect balls."

And of course Ellen Burstyn, whose performance got her an Emmy nomination. "A boyfriend? You must give one hell of a hummer."

I like documentaries on netflix. I saw one about Sea World and how they treat the whales. So sad, but a really good one to watch. It's called blackfish. It also talks about the deaths at Sea World.

Here is the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OEjYquyjcg

I no longer support Sea World, btw!

I don't remember the names, but if you look through documentaries there are a lot right now on sex work. Being a porn star, escorting around the world, and even one where they show a girl with her pimp and 3 Dallas strippers that have a 'manager'.

God I love Netflix!

Besides the previous series mentioned, I think Lilyhammer is worth a watch. It's about a New York mobster going into witness protection and placed in Norway.
