Supreme Court Should Have Stayed Out of Gore Vs. Bush
Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner says now that the Supreme Court Should have stayed out of the Gore Vs Bush election.
Why does it take so long for these justices to see the light? The damage has been done.
I said it was a wrong move by the court, the second it happened and look at the mess that Bush did to this country!

I said the public does not care. That has been proven by the facts that this story has not grown legs. That could change but I doubt it. Just because you think it matters politically does not make it so. If those facts change (the public starts caring) I will be the first to acknowledge it. So far that has not been the case. If Romney could not do anything with it in 2012, I'm not sure why you think it will matter in 2016 if Clinton in fact runs.

Did you notice that Justice O'Connor said that the decision didn't really matter, since subsequent recounts all showed that Bush won?
If anyone thinks that Gore would have been a better president than W is delusional. Gore would have been equally as bad. There wasn't a true choice between Bush and Gore.

That is the fascination with history, celebrity apprentice, and watching companies go broke (if they aren't too big to fail) oops; Enron. In the bigger picture it is seeing empires go down never suspecting they are making the same bad decisions, for exactly the same reasons, by the same personalities who rise to power, elected or not. And on the nileyou can stillsee teh locals pulling water out of the Nile with ceramic jars just like the pictures in the tombs of the Pharaohs. Bummer Anthropology degree.

You're actually implying that FG comprehends the advice and admonitions that others give him. NOT SO. He's still looking for "code words".
The only choice between Bush and Gore was "Who did you think was the lesser Screw-up?"

Recounts that do not take the entire picture of WTF actually happened. The Butterfly ballot alone cost Gore the election. But if people are not smart enough to figure out a ballot box their votes should count as they voted but anyone with half a brain knows that Pat was not who these folks were voting for, it was Gore. And yes in fact I think Gore would have been a better President. But that is beside the point.
http://www.cagreens.org/alameda/city/0803myth/myth.html
Pat Buchanan himself has admitted that most of his votes in Palm Beach County were meant for Al Gore, saying he "did not campaign and bought no advertising there" (Nichols, 2001, p. 86). He added, "I would say 95 to 98 percent of [the votes] were for Gore" ( id. at p. 89). The day after the election, many people were upset, saying the butterfly ballot was confusing. When the election results were "too close to call," Buchanan worried he would be charged with costing Gore the election. He said he got more media coverage after the election than he did during the campaign ( id. at p. 84). The graph to the left showing an abnormally high Buchanan vote in Palm Beach County suggests the butterfly ballot cost Al Gore thousands of votes, more than enough to have won the presidency.
