Default Joe Kent's Exit Complicates Things for Trump Administration

The most prominent defector from the administration since the conflict began, Kent is now counterprogramming the war effort in real time. “The task at hand,” he said, “is stopping us from getting deeper into this quagmire.”

It appears that Joe Kent is right. The israelis pushed the idea of striking Iran and dangled the idea of regime change in front of Trump.

Read about the decision process and how Trump’s advisors, so used to kowtowing to Trump, that they sat back and watched as Trump took us to war.

How Trump Took the U.S. to War With Iran

In a series of Situation Room meetings, President Trump weighed his instincts against the deep concerns of his vice president and a pessimistic intelligence assessment. Here’s the inside story of how he made the fateful decision.

A good read that details times, dates, who was in the room, how Benjamin Netanyahu / Mossad was involved and ultimately how the decision was made to attack Iran.

thank you for posting that excellent article and the archive, txdot. as i was reading it, i knew Maggie Haberman had to be one of the authors; her Trump scoops are always off the charts.

although we always make fun of Trump and taco, in this case, he made the right call. now we need to make the ceasefire permanent. maybe Trump's brinkmanship paid off. maybe..
