Surviving something tragic is serious and fortunate. But jumping from ‘he survived’ to ‘he’s divinely appointed — or literally Jesus resurrected’ is quite a theological expansion.

By that logic, every person who survives an accident would qualify as a messianic figure. History is full of leaders who survived assassination attempts — that doesn’t automatically make them prophets.

People can interpret events through their faith however they choose. But political survival isn’t the same thing as divine endorsement, and most of us would probably want a bit more evidence before rewriting the New Testament.

Why? One doesn't need to be an atheist to raise an eyebrow at that claim. Saying someone survived something isn’t the same as proving they’re divinely appointed. Most people are going to want a bit more than that.

I'll bite. As an Agnostic who knows FAR more about Christianity than most here, I think that if there is any "prophecy" that is true here, it is more likely one that says that somewhere he bears the mark of the beast - 666. God may have saved him to help him bring the end of days...
