Why's it OK to use the military to overthrow Maduro but not Saddam Hussein? To pay for genocide in Gaza but not defense in Europe?

He’s friendly with Vladimir Putin, and has tried to develop a relationship with Kim. I pretty much agree with all that.
But then he looks seriously at military action inside Venezuela, and provides massive financial support to Israel’s military.
How do you square that?

Tiny was talking about Trump's history with warfare and asking why he's suddenly all in on Venezuela.

I agree. However, who knows. I got points for a post that I thought was spot on topic.
I'd honestly like to understand how Trump decides where the USA should go nation building. Why Venezuela but not Iraq? Maybe someone can enlighten us.

I think Trump’s advisers throw mud on the wall and depending on his mood, some of it sticks.
His foreign policy is rudderless and erratic, just like his ability to make laws … even with a congressional majority firmly joined at the lip … to his ass.
He’s playing the polls.
I’d like to see the RTM’er join this thread and answer the question that made him run for the hills. That’s how this started, right?

I gave CG a layup on Venezuela and he didn't take it. Admittedly he would have had to finesse it a little to make sure he didn't violate forum guideline 14. Well, maybe he'll weigh in.
You hit on a couple of points. Is this happening because Trump is erratic? He's the anti-neoconservative, except when he's not (example: Venezuela). Or is it his advisors? Did Marco Rubio actually design strategy towards Venezuela? You certainly see that happening in immigration. Trump favors more immigration of skilled people but Stephen Miller's calling the shots.

TdA much?
Tren de Aragua.
Notwithstanding one Nicolás Maduro Moros. Match made in Heaven?
Remains to be seen how keen the Mamdani is on him, what with imitation being a supreme form of flattery and all. To be fair, at least Maduro had some actual street creds being a bus driver and working his way up the food chain to his eventual tutelage under Hugo Chavez for years.

And Saddam Hussein was hiding weapons of mass destruction. And he actually was for a while. The evidence against Maduro seems pretty sketchy, and maybe, like Hussein, made up. That said there have been people in his administration who were guilty as accused, along with his wife's nephews. But you don't overthrow a government for that. If we did, we would have gone storming into Mexico, Colombia, Peru, etc. long ago.
Btw that's no fair WYID. You can't take a layup for CG.
Interesting contrast, Mamdani vs. Maduro.

Your history studies likely revealed that TdA had expanded into Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile, long before becoming a nuisance here and in Europe.

It would be interesting to get the Waco Kid's take. I think the OP reflects Tucker Carlson's criticisms of Trump's foreign policy, but don't know. And he would.

I was just gonna ask the same about why you are here. Seems mostly to be throwing mud on the wall to see what sticks, as opposed to any meaningful contribution regarding the actual OP topic.
Maybe you thought you were in the Orange Man Muchos Bad (OMMB) thread.

Right! Cuz your bringing up Mamdani in the first place was so ON TOPIC. Your circuitous, meandering sidebars are not as impressive in their obscure references as they are nauseous in their self-indulgent conceit.

I’ve been thinking on this question for a while now and reading up on others takes on Trump’s foreign policy agenda but I can’t determine if Trump has a coherent foreign policy view or not.
It seems that his viewpoint is centered around a belief that other nations are trying to screw us in some shape or form and that the response to each country is based upon his own personal belief and nothing else.
In other words nothing he does can be understood except when filtered through Trump’s dementia riddled brain.

Welp... who's his hero(s) in this OP?
Netanyahu? Saddam Hussein? Maduro? Trump?
Hussein (deceased) was simply a violent thug/dictator.
That leaves us with which Commies in the bunch?
Pro Tip: The future begins with the past.
In other words; commies gonna commie with commies.
Hope the flotilla can make it back to NYC from Venezuela in enough time.
