I love Houston. Always have, always will. Especially in these last 10 years. It has grown so much and there is a *lot* on offer here.
Theatre, cultural shows, art/museums, green spaces and other outdoor activities, shopping, shows and other cool events, sports, and as someone else mentioned, the best food scene in the entire country, imo (yes, I'll fight you over this, lol.) I also personally love the hot weather, can't be beat, and as you said, the beach is just a quick day trip away (I'm actually going this weekend!)
Lots here to see and do, and a healthy market of hobbyists for us providers. Enjoy your time here!

Yes, the food. If you're not from here, you probably understand more than others. You can't get this selection and quality anywhere I've ever been.
