Default Texas, NY, and all the Gerrymandering wars that are about to unfold

Well well, well.

Apparently project 2025 and the team of fuckery over on the GOP side has decided to throw another 5 votes to the GOP if they get their way. Way to go Team Texas and the wheelchair cucky, Abbott. He and Kenny Paxton as well as the rest of the dried up dirty dicklickers known as the TEXAS GOP can suck it.

Try to deal dirty-and we are gonna do the same thing.

Gerrymandering isn't anything new- but this is taking things to a whole new level. Instead of bending the knee and sucking it up, the Dems are done with that approach. This is an all out assault and war being built on politics and power.

Michelle Obama’s famous slogan, “when they go low, we go high” sounds really great on paper — but in a time of war, it’s a good way to get your head blown off.

and believe me, we are in a time of war — a war to preserve whatever scraps of democracy we still can, while there’s still a chance.

this isn’t the time for high-minded tut-tutting, or strongly-worded letters — which is why it’s so satisfying to watch New York Governor Kathy Hochul vow to go nuclear.

She's vowing that if you're gonna do that in TEXAS, NY is gonna reciprocate- (not that NY hasn't played this game before, but this is gonna bring a whole new level of shine to re-changing districts and maps etc).

Kathy Hochul understands the assignment, and she’s drawn a clear line in the sand: don’t fuck with us. if you gerrymander your state, we’ll gerrymander ours.

Hochul has embraced changing New York’s process since the fight over the Lone Star State maps escalated last month. Other Democrats have gone along as well: New York lawmakers introduced a state constitutional amendment last week that would let Democrats make mid-decade adjustments to their maps before the 2028 election cycle.

The redistricting effort she’s pushing in New York could open the door to a new set of maps that give Democrats an edge in 22 of the state’s 26 congressional districts by 2028. They won 19 of the 26 seats in 2024.

New York’s district maps are currently drawn by an independent commission, and Hochul is all that shit don’t fly no more.

fuck yeah, Kathy Hochul. how long have you waited for those words to come out of the mouth of an elected Democrat?

that weird, unfamiliar feeling you’re experiencing right now is elation.

it sure feels good, doesn’t it, finally hearing a Democrat actually say that the playing field has changed, and the era of ‘oh, we’re Democrats, we’re above fighting back’ is over?

now get ready to overdose on elation, because Gavin Newsom is promising to redraw California’s map.

“these folks don’t play by the rules. if they can’t win under the current rules, they’ll just change them. that’s what Donald Trump has done. he’s dialing for seats—familiar behavior, since he dialed for votes in the last election. this is someone who tried to break this country, who tried to light democracy on fire on January 6th. he knows he’s going to lose in the midterms, and we have the opportunity to de facto end the Trump presidency in less than 18 months. that’s what’s at stake. that’s why we’re putting a stake in the ground. we’re not drawing lines just to draw lines — we’re holding the line: on democracy, on the rule of law, on co-equal branches of government, on popular sovereignty. that’s what this is about.”

they’re so chickenshit, these Republicans. they know that Donny’s policies fucking suck, and they know they’re going to get crushed in the 2026 elections and lose their majority in the House — so they’re going to do the only thing they know how to do: cheat.

finally, at long last, Democratic Governors are rousing from their slumbers and actually doing something to preserve democracy, before it’s too late.

thank you, Kathy Hochul and Gavin Newsom — and JB Pritzker, too.

Pritzker is also considering the redistricting to match up with what the GOP is doing.

thank you to every Democratic governor currently contemplating redrawing their electoral maps, for finally figuring it the fuck out:

this is a war.

you’ll never guess how Republicans reacted to getting a taste of their own medicine. they fell all the fuck to pieces and started whining about how unfair Democrats are.

“it is unconstitutional. it is illegal. but here’s what’s going on. everyone across the country needs to understand this. Gavin Newsom is planning to steal five Republican house seats next year … we cannot allow Gavin Newsom to get away with it.”

oh, boo fucking hoo. eat shit, pal.

YOU may have started this fight, but we're gonna fucking finish it.

Texas started it. CA and NY (and hopefully other blue states) following suit is fair game.

Fuck the GOP. Fuck MAGA. They're going to suffer greatly next year for what they've unleashed on this once-great nation*

*unless, of course, trump figures out a way to suspend the midterms - which he is obviously trying to do - and his pet SCOTUS will allow it

In other news, water is wet.

But never at the public behest of the "president", who flat out said "we're entitled to 5 more seats".

Big difference. Anyway, MAGA is FA, and they're about to FO.

It’s done at the behest of politicians every single time. If Trump feels districts are incorrect, entitling a party to more accurate representation, it would be irresponsible for him ~NOT~ to call for redistricting. Regardless of that, he has no power over how state district lines are drawn anyways, his opinion on the matter holds the same weight as yours or mine. Should we not be allowed to voice our thoughts, or do you wish to muzzle only those you hold animus towards? I’m pretty sure that the first amendment isn’t considered null and void based on a particular job title.

Yep. It's gonna get REALLY Wet round these here parts. Courts have stepped in, in the past when there was pure partisanship attempts, but as Governors stepping in over state courts, and LORD Potus attempting the sway, were gonna see a little different response.

OF NOTE:

Donald Trump isn't smart enough to figure out gerrymandering districts on his own: there are quite a few fuckery fuckers driving this stuff. Trumps simple math percentage calculations are enough to teach you, he cannot add 1+1 to get 2.

They are not holding back on telling the truth either:

Not state Representative Mitch Little, a Texas Republican who explained brazenly to CNN Tuesday that it’s a Machiavellian partisan maneuver.

The host asked her guest why the Texas GOP is attempting to redistrict now when it just did so four years earlier after the last U.S. census. (Normal census times are every ten years) Little put it plainly: “Because we can. We have the votes. It’s legal for us to do so. It’s legal for us to draw the lines based on political performance."

A reminder "were still the Fuck your Feelings Team -R. " Were gonna dowhat we gotta"

It's not hard to see if the RedHats are gonna do it, the same will follow from the Dems.

So who already does a fucking shitty job with Gerrymandering? With the following states being rated as an F when it comes to Gerrymandering attempts to control their seats:

Florida
South Caroline,
North Carolina,
Illinois,
Wisconson
Tennessee,
Georgia,
Texas,
Lousiana,
New Mexico
Oregon,
Nevada,
Utah,
Ohio,
Fucking Kansas.

What do the majority of these states have in common? "R's"

U.S. Supreme Court and Congress have failed to rein in gerrymandering. The Supreme Court has ruled that partisan gerrymandering claims can't be brought in federal courts because it is fundamentally a political matter and there's no clear standard for what constitutes gerrymandering or not. So essentially it's up to states to determine what is legal in their borders. Scary to think that these states who are run by Loyalists to either party will bend and outright defy laws that protect voters and voter integrity, will be twisted and contorted by a group of lemmings who will do everything including selling their mothers into whore-dom to ensure their party stays in power.

Further Project 2025 includes limits on who can vote, campaign contribution limits' raised for larger donors' - more money- more influence, and lastly by controlling the way states vote and where.

Project 2025 has it's goals; as written by Gene Hamilton, a lawyer who served in the DOJ and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under Trump and is best known as the chief architect of ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy.

“The DOJ has become a bloated bureaucracy with a critical core of personnel who are infatuated with the perpetuation of a radical liberal agenda and the defeat of perceived political enemies,” Hamilton writes in Project 2025, before outlining a long list of “essential” reforms that the next conservative president should make a priority.

Among them: reforming the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), asserting that the DOJ’s litigation strategy must be totally aligned with the next president’s agenda and completely stripping the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, which is responsible for enforcing civil provisions of the federal laws that protect the right to vote, like the Voting Rights Act (VRA) and the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). In essence, what Hamilton proposes is a DOJ completely stripped of its independent authority, instead to be used as a tool of the president

(Added the above to show the inclusion of limiting voting rights intentions)

Well, if it's good for the goose, it's gonna be good for the gander. Watch what the fuck happens in 2028!

If you build it, they will come. All this and still y'all want to believe that DJT never heard of project 2025 before, and has no idea who or what they wrote. For a guy who's never heard of it, he sure has all the hallmarks of plagiarism and theft of ideology.

Nothing new for Trump to steal from others' - more like his Trademark.

Futher Trumps already implemented the following to limit voters.
  • attempting to rewrite election rules to burden voters and usurp control of election systems;
  • targeting or threatening to target election officials and others who keep elections free and fair;
  • supporting people who undermine election administration; and
  • retreating from the federal government’s role of protecting voters and the election process.

"Were gonna fix this so good, that this will be the last time you'll have to vote" Donald J. Trump talking to Christians.

Seriously- the Dems are gonna meet this atleast Halfway- and while they are late to the game- the game is afoot.

J, most redistricting is done decennially. This is a smidge more rare.

If this were Biden calling for it, I full well know you'd have a different take because we've had this convo before. And you know I see a difference between redistricting and gerrymandering.

One is part of the typical process to allow for evolution and fairness. The other is a more targeted effort to unfairly apportion seats.

Can we agree that gerrymandering is bad?

Yeah. sure it does. He's just a low level coffee boy in the grand scheme of things- he has no sway on any state: specifically a RED state- LIKE TEXAS, where this was all about the legislature there saying they were doing this, so that Trump couldnt' be muzzled by losing the house in the mid terms. This is enablement 101, and you're comment about his opinion not mattering is extremely myopic. They literally would do ANYTHING Trump tells them to do.

An honest politician, that’s a breath of fresh air. Of course it’s political, always was and always will be.

Fact of the matter is that current, crazily drawn district lines are there to dilute the representation of white people. If SCOTUS rules as they should, this practice is likely to be eliminated and democrats are in deep shit.

... You make a GREAT point, mate.

... IF the Dems don't fancy the Texas map - and the Repubs
don't fancy the Illinois map - then the Supreme Court
can step in and put a stop to it all.

When a non-partisan committee re-draws the maps in concerned states
- whom do you wonder will HATE the re-draws most?? ...

... The Democrats are LOW on ideas - and the American people
surely favour the Repubs on issues that matter.

wrong- the SCOTUS has already ruled that state maps of representatives is a STATE issue and by it's nature a state political operation. They aren't going to do anything about it unless there was some serious encroaching of the right to vote. I don't think there is enough mustard on that hotdog to get them to overturn TEXAS or any other states decisions to redraw maps. I do however think it's going to be challenged- due to them SUPPOSEDLY being done only after a census. If done midway- the case could be made for nefarious reasons, but if it's done in one state- it will be also in others.

Relative to low on ideas- The facts are that ALL ideas for REDHATS are out of Project 2025. There is nothing new besides Navarros' nonsense about tariff incomes from the 1800's. And that aint so new friendo. I've mentioned this about a million time in various threads here- that the perversion of politics is that REPUBLICANS want to roll back and stimy any changes for a positive outcome- they want the US to return to 1950. The Dems have had visions that take courage, reform, and change. Power plants, vs. coal, Transit vs. Gasoline, Renewables vs. pollution, Healthcare that's equitable; and yes there are growing pains, but the guy talking about beautiful CLEAN COAL, isn't the one with the ideas.

Ask any coal miner if it's anything like that!?

What innovation has team RED come up with that wasn't here before?
