Default Seems fair to End the Fed

No reason we should not treat the Fed any differently than the way they treated inflation that last four years - Transitory.

yikes..

can you say undue political influence tho..

the Fed's mandate, essentially, is to take the appropriate action at any given time. and we've been blessed to have several steady captains steering us through some pretty treacherous waters: Greenspan, Bernanke, Yellen, Powell..

replace that with pols worried about their next election is a recipe for disaster, imho.

for example, Trump wants lower interest rates rn on top of tariffs. can you say hyperinflation, approaching 7%..

Trump is an idiot if he thinks he can influence the FED.

He is a double idiot for thinking he can find a way to fire the FED chairman.

I read somewhere that Trump has a lot more invested in bonds than stocks, if you exclude Trump Social. Maybe he's just trying to get interest rates to go down by pressuring the Fed so the value of his bonds will go up! That doesn't seem to be working, for longer maturities anyway.

The man's two steps ahead of everyone else though. If he manages to jack up inflation with the tariffs and gets the Fed to keep interest rates low, then all the debt owed by the Trump Organization will be easy peasy to repay!

Donald J. Trump, crazy like a Fox!

This is a horrifying idea. The executive branch is powerful enough already. Giving one man the ability to print money and to set the federal funds rate is a terribly bad idea.
