The Democratic Party and Women's Rights: What Happened?
I remember the feminist movement of the 1970s. Then, the activist agitation was for opening job categories that had been traditionally "men only" to women who were qualified. Jobs such as engineering and annual jobs such as phone lineman. We had to come up wi5h new names for things that did not have "Man" in it. Mailman became letter carrier and so on. The cause of women
s rights was held to be equivalent toor an extension of the Civil Rights movement of the previous decade.
Then came Title Nine legislation; By law, schools had to fund sports programs for women at the same level as for men regardless of ticket sales. There was a lot of resentment over things like jobs and sports . . . .but all that was 50 years ago. As a society, we were pretty much "all-good" with these changes . . .up until we weren't.
The liberal left and the Democratic party had been the champion of women in the workplace and women in sports. They were the advocates for and protectors of "women's rights". But they no longer are.
The Progressive Left has become advocates for agendas that are antithetical to the protection of the rights of women; rights to a non-hostile work environment, fair competition and the human decency of privacy while in a bathroom, dressing room or locker room.
It is my belief that this strident advocacy from progressive Democrats is one factor, among others, that brought the Republicans and President Trump back into power in this past election.

They’d need to acknowledge what ’woman’ means, which they can’t without riling up their freakazoid voting base, to actually be pro-women’s rights.

Please re-read the OP. There is no mention of trans anything.

It’s really simple.
Since President Trump champions Women’s Rights, the Trump Deranged Democrats must oppose them.

If they aren't attacking them, they sure aren't protecting them.

Well look at what you wrote. So yes you were injecting trans to your discussion.
The Progressive Left has become advocates for agendas that are antithetical to the protection of the rights of women; rights to a non-hostile work environment, fair competition and the human decency of privacy while in a bathroom, dressing room or locker room.
This thread is about the propoganda brought by magas.imagined threats dang near word for word. Dems are more concerned about women's rights and have done way more to protect them.

What a bunch of misdirection by the party of grab em by the pussy.
Democrats promote women's rights
They believe in and instituted equal pay for women in the work place
Democrats have initiated support groups and protections for battered women and women who are rape victims.

I am referring to whomever it is that women feel uncomfortable being exposed to in traditionally "safe spaces" reserved for women. One would have to ask women to be specific about that.
Whatever . . .It seems that many women indeed do object to the invasion of their safe spaces by those who would force themselves into those spaces.
In my limited experience, and with reference to similar spaces traditionally set aside for men; most men don't have that same level of discomfort with societal invasion of those spaces as much as most women do.

All that is true, but it is largely historical.
Today the progressive left wing of the Democratic party are actively working to undermine and render meaningless the fundamental protections and empowerments for women that were made law by Title Nine legislation.

Go back to the legislation of the 1910s and 20s. A greater percentage of republicans voted for women’s rights than democrats. Same with the Equal Rights bill of 1964. Going back to the Civil War the GOP has been on the side of increasing rights.

They lost sight of their base.
One thing I have seen from them is that they can recover from a faux pas faster than what i've seen repubs do.
