Would you take a trip into “space” if you could afford it?
So Bezos and Branson now have “space” flights under their belts. Both approximately 60 miles up. Bezos flight took 11 minutes. Branson’s longer because it wasn’t a rocket. Reportedly 28 million a seat.

I dunno, is it really a big deal? A couple minutes of zero gravity. I can get that at Pittsburgh’s amusement park, Kennywood. I don’t get it. I think it’s much ado about nothing.

NASA projected failure rae ( catastrophic rate) was - for eh shuttle - 7% to my memory.
Not well publicized.
what is the failure rate for teh branson/bezos crafts - without extensive government support and testing - as NASA - may well be higher.
I do not plan on going
Be happy to host a 'Fundme' to send AOC, Schumer, and Pelosi ,and their 'Squad"!.
Do America a favor - send out the garbage!

He has to develop a much bigger rocket to get rid of all the trash.

Funding should come from fiden's spending bills - he will never notice the difference.

Or it may well be lower... CAD engineering likely changes the failure rate from a mechanical perspective to micro numbers. Metals are still metals though. Propellant handling has been a known factor for nearly 50 years...
Honestly without politics driving their flight numbers private space will probably prove to be MUCH safer in the long run.

So they are spending millions of our money to go up 60 miles in a bucket. That's not even out of the Earth's gravitational pull.

I know. Fucking retarded. I would rather take a flight on the Concord if it was still flying.

Are you claiming Bezos' and Branson's funds, somehow belong to you? These flights were not paid for by the Federal Government, they were paid for by Bezos' and Branson's private companies.
It's definitely NOT your, or my, money.

considering the cost for Branson's trip is 200,000 for one trip i'd rather buy a 200k Lambo and drive it a million times

Sir. They only went up app. 60 + miles
As space travel goes, Blue Origin's flight was a modest, up-and-down, suborbital jaunt, just over 66.5 miles high, a mere toe dip in the vastness of the cosmos that lasted just over 10 minutes from launch to landing.

so you are saying it's a waste of money for a couple of geezers to line their pockets for a "fake" space trip?
