NYC Mayor de Blasio defends controversial staffing by First Lady Chirlane McCray









Mayor de Blasio went on the defensive Wednesday over staffing for city First Lady Chirlane McCray.
“It is exactly what it is — people from different agencies working in common cause to address this crisis,” he said at a press conference. “Everybody in this government needs to understand that this is the priority and that’s where we’re going to put our energy.”
McCray has been using a shadow staff of six city workers in addition to her own official staff of eight, news site The City reported on Monday.
A recent hire earning $150,000 per year raised hackles as the mayor threatens to fire up to 22,000 employees in the face of staggering tax revenue shortfalls.
“That article didn’t take into account the work that’s being done,” Hizzoner grumbled. “So this work is about the needs of the people of this city, especially in this crisis.”


Typical marxist revolutionary DumBlasio graft and corruption - cutting city police and other sevices while his Wife is surrounded by a retinue at city expense.

Dumblasio would make lenin blush as his corruption and graft - and nepotism.

I don't really mind that they give these glamour postings to their friends and donors - both sides do it. I just don't think the people buying the spots should act like they are anything special. They are usually left out of the loop for important work anyway.
