Hotels for now
I have always only done incalls. But with the world turning upside down, this is becoming a challenge. Mainly for the next couple of weeks
I guess i shouldnt ask for recommendations. But maybe you pm me a few in johnson county.
I am not sure how the process works as far as reserving a room. Then you just check out a couple hours later?
Any advice on this subject. I am not just a horny toad, i miss being held in someones arms. Then tell me everything is going to be ok

Well if the ones that serve breakfast are still operating, why checkout early. Spend the night and make yourself a waffle in the morning.

Pretty much nobody is serving breakfast. Some hotels are doing a sack breakfast to go thing at request, but don't think anybody is doing breakfast, especially the ones who serve like a buffet line.

SS, if you check out a few hours later, you'll be answering questions on why your leaving, and that could get interesting. If you register with a credit card up front, (which you will most likely have to), you can just leave the key cards in the room and leave. They will bill your card, and you don't have to physically check out at the desk, so no explanation necessary. There are half dozen decent hotels right off 435 and Metcalf. Probably around $100 per night, but you may get some deals right now with almost no one traveling. Try priceline or truvago...

well pm me...i have some news
I was in town yesterday for the week remainder...but had to leave.
the hotel I chose was a very nice one...but it was toooo quiet and the staff was hanging around bored and too friendly...and there was an isssue with a guest staying there.
so I left and cut my losses.
But I will be back soon so I have the scoop on a good hotel to use.

I'd have to agree. About a month before we were put on lock down I worked projects in ATL, Nashville and Chicago, and little by little all of the hotels were closing down the buffet scenarios. You couldn't even get coffee or juice. But, as stated, some were providing the bagged to-go breakfasts.

I should have thought about the buffet being closed down. Well you have to sleep somewhere. I usually stay the night if I host and leave early in the morning. Though to avoid the checking out after a couple hours, there was a time when I didn't stay but came back before checkout.

I haven't checked out of a hotel in years. Just leave the key on the dresser and walk out. They don't know you are leaving for good -- you could just be going out for dinner or whatever.
I suppose if you have luggage and don't want them to know you are checking out, you might have to use a separate exit or something.

I'd find a really tall hotel and ask for a room high up with a view. Smart girls would have inexpensive overnight rates right now. 4-500 maybe? Limit traffic.

Hotels are not the place to be doing business now. Was by one where I live on plaza off main and it was a ghost town . Went in while running to see if could grab a drink from machines as had friends stay there long ago while visiting. Was a total ghost town ...overhead floors were closed. vending machine not working...Girl at desk said only around 4 people were at hotel. Can you imagine attention you'd get having guys come over?

Your right about it being a ghost town in those places. I went to one Saturday. I was told in advance that the lobby doors were locked. But they wouldn't ask questions about who you were seeing, when they let you in. Option 2 was to park in the garage and take the elevators. So for a few bucks I did option 2. Only a handful of cars parked there. The elevators weren't visible from the desk. So there was no face to face interaction with hotel staff. You did need a card to pay for parking. Only drawback.

I traveled much for business in my life and as KCF said, you dont need to check out. I very seldomly physically checked out but just left key in room. Never and issue. One thing to remember though is to pull the Do not disturb sign off the handle when you leave. The cleaning crew goes in and no one knows when the occupant leaves.

I’ve always wondered why more hosts don’t try to find a couple of AirBNBs to set up shop? I would think if you looked thoroughly enough you could find a couple with an advantageous layout for getting people in & out. But I figured there must be some reason I’m not thinking of.
