There seems to be a growing gap in what both sides in the biz considers acceptable communication. How many of you have experienced no replies to texts or been ghosted in a parking lot waiting for an appointment? It seems that many of the new crop of providers cant be bothered to reply and have no issue with blowing people off with zero notice. Anyone of you that interacted with our now gone, latest local “Super Star” (you all know the initials) experienced the ghosting and no reply stuff over and over. Shouldn’t it be expected for a provider to reply to a message attempting to set up a visit? And not days or weeks later either...
That said I recognize its not one sided, in talking with a reputable provider who does reply and has never ghosted me, she related that there are far too many texts that aren’t related to setting up appointments so its difficult to get to them all. She went on to say that while there is some comfort in “regulars” that there are some guys who think that she’s their girlfriend and get way too personal or worse want to have a personal type relationship which eats up a lot of time with no benefit to her. Outside of plain old respecting each other and the roles being played I don’t have a solution but at a minimum it would be great if the pros had a way to auto-reply to texts with something like “thanks for your message, I cant reply right now but will get back to you as soon as possible” for those times when they cant or don’t want to be bothered. At least that way the sender would know their message got there but also that they shouldn’t expect a quick reply right then. As for ghosting when a time and place has been agreed to, only once in my book and then they’re off the call list and I would expect the providers to do the same... I’d like to hear thoughts from both sides on this

I have been fortunate...doing enough research and establish that I travel over an hour to visit them....that said I rarely run into issues... I normally set up my meetings the night before... and I send a message prior to leaving my area that Im on my way... I give them a 15 min out text and make sure im not sitting in a parking lot at hotel waiting for a room #.
This works and this level of respect I give to them...i receive the respect in return with timely replies.
Im not saying i haven't experienced what you speak of... I agree there is very bad communication issues in this arena....I understand they can be busy while with clients...but dont answer then ghost someone...if they are texting with multiple prospective people...leave a final quick message... "I have to get ready for an appointment...and tell me to leave a time that would work"...instead of "crickets"...
If im ghosted during any of my conversations that are directly related to a booking ...not just q&a texts (because i know at the moment that Im not making commitment yet)... I will not chance driving far only to be ghosted.
Communication is big to me...and I agree is lacking lately

I am in the same situation as afterdark. I don't live anywhere near Albany. Just the ride out and back is 3 hours total. I also try to do my homework on who I'm visiting, and to make sure communication is present. But as far as the ghosting topic goes, I consider 2019 largely a disaster for me. Many a popular local Albany girl left me hanging in the parking lot without a word. A few of them left me hanging more than once. The lack of professionalism on both sides here in Albany is actually quite pathetic compared to what it was just a few short years ago. In the past if a girl stood me up in Albany it wasn't that much of a big deal, because there were 10 more ready to take her place. Now it's nowhere that level. After all that happened last year, I can certainly tell myself that if I'm ghosted while sitting in the parking lot, I will never try to see that girl again. When it comes to ghosting my patience has worn so thin now I won't tolerate it any longer. I'll just block them, remove them from my contacts, or simply walk away from that individual.

No one should tolerate their time being wasted.. Time is something you just cant get back.. It's precious.. That's just rude,inconsiderate and unprofessional.. No one wants it done to them ,so they shouldn't do it to others.. Common courtesy goes a long way..
