Just an addendum to this encounter.... I just got a PM demanding that I stop using Brigitta as a reference, not to request future appointments, and says she has blocked me on ECCIE. I have received at least 10 PM's from members wanting to know more about Brigitta and responded to all with positive recommendations. I can't imagine how much further business she has received from that. And here, she doesn't want me to use her as a reference. Damndest thing, because she was so nice and friendly! This outrage from her appears to be coming from a different person than I have been recommending.

So two seemingly sane providers have told you to not use them again as references and you are banned from seeing them again? Don’t mean to sound overly judgmental, but here goes. I think you may want to examine your approach as you may be a material contributor to the situation.

Perhaps soften your approach.

So, let me make sure I got this right. We contact a provider, get screened, make the appointment, lay down the necessary contribution, have a happy encounter, ask if we can come back, get a big YES, ask if they don't mind a review, write a really nice review, later include this nice provider as a reference, and get a PM demanding that I stop using her as a reference and go Fuck myself. What different approach would you use? I admit, I am no great lover, but I thought the purpose of a reference is so other providers know you are not LE.

Did you ask her if you could use her as a reference? How many times did you use her as a reference and how many times have you visited her? If she's low volume she might have an issue with being contacted excessively.

You also have to understand that when you use a provider as a reference she will wonder why you're not booking with her. Some providers understand that guys like variety and our interests can change from day to day, and handle that better than others. Others feel personally affronted that you would want to see someone else.

Not sure what Brigitta's specific issue with you is, but perhaps these are things you can keep in mind for the next lady you use as a reference.

Problem on this site. It is very hard for a newbie to get a date. There is a wonderful variety of providers that a guy like me would die to have an encounter with. It takes a lot of effort to get that first appointment, then about the same for the next. You use those two first ones as references to attempt to get a date with the really expensive and hot ones. But, you have to go through 10 screenings before one says it is good to go. That means your first two dates were sent 10 requests for reference. I can see how the first two would get a bit upset. They must think I have visited all of those women. God, I wish I had the strength!

1. At least you're owning it, although of course it's too late for those two. Contemplation of one's mistakes is good for the soul, or at least good for one's future in this community.

2. Sending 10 requests for a third date is excessive. (considering a bit of exaggeration, of course, but still.) Could you be doing something wrong in your second wave, after the first two? You seem reasonable and well-spoken on this board, gotta admit. OTOH, if that's an Austin trend (10:1), I'm more glad than ever that I got in with P411 before it closed. I haven't been asked for references for quite a while.

3. For my first two P411 OK's (2x seemed to be the magic number at the time), I tipped $20. to each. Again, too late for those first two, but something you should consider for your next Eccie references.

Giving references is a long-time-honored professional courtesy, even more important now after the closure of P411 to new members.
