Had an issue yesterday

To preface this, I've always been a short notice kind of guy. However, when I set an appointment and say I am on my way, I have made it to that appointment. That is, until yesterday.

I was talking with a girl here and trying to figure out where she was in relation to where I was. I wasn't using a hobby phone, I was PM'ing here. Not the safest thing in the world. Anyway, I was in a motor vehicle collision. Rest easy, this old boy isn't hurt. The other driver was intoxicated. Interestingly, I had a bottle with me and had planned to imbibe during our date but never made it to the appointment.

To the young lady, I am very sorry. I would not have felt comfortable pm'ing you here in the back of an ambulance or at the hospital while my mom was looking over my shoulder. I hope you'll understand.

but - if you can post here you can PM her too - please reach out to her and reschedule and thank her for understanding - given the circumstances i'm sure she'll understand - but she will really appreciate you getting back on her dance card and making this date happen - especially with the holidays on top of us...pun intended...

Life happens man. You really shouldn't need to do anything more than a quick apology and an explanation that you were hit by a car. Definitely reward girls who show understanding and appreciation though.

Like everyone said glad you are OK. The main thing is that you already told her situation and apologized to her. Really no need for a public apology.

Okay...I can't help but ask...why was she there but more importantly you couldn't find a quiet moment in the restroom...in the hall..etc...?

MW, I considered just ignoring you, and that probably would have been best.

I didn't play the exact word game, for brevity's sake. I suppose I should have said something to the effect of:

"Being at the hospital, with my mom there to make sure I was okay (sorry your mom won't do that for you, MW) and had a ride home, as well as the in and out of nurses and whatnot, logging in to let the lady know what happened took a fairly low priority due to the ongoing situation and complications of trying to make contact. If I had been texting with the lady, it would have been far easier."

Does that best address your inquiry?

If it doesn't, I am not terribly sorry. I don't owe you an explanation. The lady and I have worked it out, so this should be of little concern for you unless you're out here running ladies' business for them, and I don't think you have the capacity to do so.

Sorry for weighing in one more time but I believe my question to the op was fair..but perhaps I assumed too much. If you could apologize to him on my behalf I would be grateful...

Oh and speaking of assuming...my mother cannot come see me at the hospital...she passed away a year ago last month..
