Default Colin Cowherd - "The Mavs are the weakest Champions in NBA History

What is the problem with Colin Cowherd. Where does he base his worthless opinions on. He called the MAVS the weakest champions in NBA history.
He seems like such a phony.

If they are so weak, where does that rank the Heat team that he has been hyping all year and Le Bronz, the greatest player to don a jock strap? He is so lame it is ridiculous.

He's just another "shock jock" and wants to raise his ratings. The best team won. Period. Look at who they had to go through to win it and then tell me they are weak.

Alas, he got a bunch of people to talk about it on this silly ole whore board, so it makes him a big man.

In any event, trying to compare teams from year to year is a waste.

The Mavs managed to make it through the schedule, the injuries, and some pretty decent competition in this playoff stretch. I think at the beginning of the season, most sports pundits would have picked the Heat to take it all. Once it came down to the Mav-Heat finals, the Heat were still favorites. The MAVs did it without the showboating that makes for good ratings on television, just good old hard work, dedication, and self-motivation. No, they don't have a high-dollar star, don't have a flashy player, don't stick their tongues out at the competition, the refs, or the fans. (They let Mark Cuban handle those duties, but thankfully, he seemed to show some maturity during the playoffs.)

Final note: Contrary to popular rumor started by the Cowboys organization and 'America's Team' designation, most of the country dislikes Texas and Dallas. The only positive for the Mavs was that King James' attitude turned off enough people to make beating the Heat a higher priority than dishing Dallas.

(Most people really don't understand geography and the fact that the Cowboys were an Irving, now Arlington team, so the minor cities of the metroplex, including Cowtown, don't even make the sporting maps. A recent show I watched (one of the versions of Criminal Minds) had a murder at the new Cowboy's stadium being investigated by Dallas PD, and geographically had pins on the map for other murders all mucked up.)

CC is a jerk, but he got himself talked about here, other sports radio stations not affiliated with espn, on radio / tv stations that don't major in sports programming. I'm sure he bought himself a 2 year contract extension with that comment that garnered priceless PR for espn and his show.

Much better to spend spare moments hobbying...much more satisfying!!!

I can't listen to him. I can handle some blowhards, like Rich, but most just annoy the shit out of me. The guy is a product of the ESPN promotion machine, trying to make a talk show host out of a no one. They lost Dan Patrick and Jim Rome is too big for them to pay. They need someone in that time slot and his resume made the top of the pile that particular day.

His ratings don't justify him remaining on the air compared with his competition.

The dude is worthless. This isn't the NCAA where a team gets hot and wins a few games for a national championship. Best of 7 series is done for a reason, to remove the fluke chance.

The mavs deserve it because they won 16 games. Period.

Saw this on NBA Stats Cube: The Mavericks are the must clutch team in the last 25 years, based on the stats for their performance in the close finishes of the 4th quarters. Mavs dominated Heat down the stretch in this series.

That is the sign of a great team IMO!

I seriously do not think he even watched the games. All those comebacks and road wins and they are weak? I know BSPN and guys like him on those silly shows had a lot riding on the Heat to win but at some point you have to man up and admit you were wrong and not discredit a team in spite.

If you recall he was bagging on the Rangers last year too.

The guy is a complete fool. Every once in a while when travelling I find him and and try it again only to be reminded why he is an idiot. I am not even a Mavs fan and I know his criticisms are completely out of left field.

Yeah I stopped listening to him when he said he'd rather have Gasol over Dirk. This was right before the Lakers-Mavs series started. His reasonings were retarded and he's just buttering up to the superstars like Kobe and Lebron the choker.
