Vixen there is SOOOO much to do and to choose from. Lexxyis spot on with the wine tasting, wine trail tours up along Cayuga or Seneca Lakes. lots of nice places to stay too.

If you're into the arts there are also lots of options and then boating is an option too

If you want specific ideas PM me and I'll let you in on different options!

the wine tours it good for all of the Finger lakes. In ether Rochester,Syracuse. pulled port from this dinosaur is great Syracuse is the home for that place. Other things in Rochester. I hear the Strong toy museum is cool if you are into that. Abbotts custard is very good. Its a soft Ice cream. Night life many kinds of music can be found. www.freetime.com to find the type you like and where. 3 great malls for shopping, Greece, Henrietta. and Victor. For a drive along the lake, Braddock bay Greece to
Irondequoit bay is nice. You can do that from the water also. At the harbor/Genesee river you can board a paddle boat that goes to both bays and back and or up the river. Upper falls is nice. Just north of the inter loop Down town. There are some stage show from Broad Way NYC the play in Rochester. mmm again freetime.com should have whats in town. 3 more museums on east ave, art gallery on University ave. Finger lake race track is not far from the city. if you like slot machines and horse racing. If you are driving and have the time when changing city's (Rochester,Syracuse) rt 20 is the slow way to go. But for small towns and most of the finger lakes can be great.

Niagara Falls, one of the 7 wonders of the world. The maid of the mist boat ride is incredible. Chefs resturant in Buffalo shouldn't be missed. If you have your passport then the Canadian side of the falls is a treasure trove of sightseeing. And the new casino at the Hilton is top notch.

If you are in Albany in late July through August, head up to the flat track in Saratoga. It's the gem of the Capital District

In Buffalo, explore its rich architectural heritage: http://www.visitbuffaloniagara.com/t.../architecture/

Across the border, take a drive on the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake, considered by Winston Churchill "the prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niagara_Parkway

A lot of Wine Tasting ideas. Starting to think me have a group of people with a slight problem LOL J/K

If you are near Buffalo/Niagara on a Tuesday, there is always the free concert series at Artpark in Lewiston. The lineup this year is pretty amazing.

On Thursday's, There is Thursday's in the square in Buffalo for more great free music.

Whirlpool Jetboat ride. Cave of the winds. Niagara Falls is famous for its shopping among Canadians. Old Fort Niagara for some interesting US History. Many restaurants in the area to choose from. There is another thread on just that alone.

Depending on the weekend, there is usually some sort of food tasting, festival or cultural event of one type or another taking place. There is never a lack of things to do in Western NY.

Golf- so many courses which are easy to get on and cheap.
Casinos outside Buffalo and Syracuse areas- I love a good poker room.
Minor baseball in Buf, Roc, and Syr- fun and cheap.
And of course- Hobby!

Since you like flowers you might enjoy the Rose Garden at Maplewood Park and the Lamberton Conservatory in Highland Park. If you were coming earlier the lilacs at Highland Park are great. For something a bit more cultural--Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester or Albright-Knox Gallery in Buffalo
