In nearby Shawnee we have a man who lawfully possessing a pistol defends a woman and her child with deadly force. He is questioned by the local media about his use of a gun and his identity has to be hidden.
In Minnesota we have a man who lawfully possessed a pistol defending the lives of several people at a mall. He is a national hero.

The difference; one is a police officer (who was off duty) and the other a private citizen, one had to face down an assailant armed with a gun, the other faced a knife.

The likes: both were at a shopping center, both killed their target, both saved lives

Why the different reporting and different conclusions?
