Default Time for the Greg Popovich show...

Okay. So "resting" the guys didn't pay off last year. Fell to the 6th seed and the Clippers came in here and took 2 of the 3. SMDH...

I remember back in '99, the guys went 12-1 to close out the regular season and I still preach today to anyone who will listen that if Michael Jordan had remained in the league, the 99 Spurs would have beaten the 99 Bulls for the title.

In 2003: undefeated in April. In 2005: 13-1 to finish the year. In 2007: 6-4 in April but swept Cleveland in the finals. Had to wait another 6 years for a return trip to the Finals then blew a 3-2 lead over Miami. In 2014: 4-4 in April.

Last year on espn sports-talk-radio, one of the guys commented on how "focused" the Spurs were in 2014 after they blew that series to Miami and then says he didn;t see that same fire this year (which was last year). Now the best franchise record is on the line with the GS Warriors with home court advantage waiting in the wings.

Now, don;t get me wrong - I'm not a band-wagoner: season tickets since Dave Robinson was a rookie. Just grown tired of Pop. I would love to see Becky Hammond take over this team.

Interesting SAEN article 2 weeks ago if you missed it: http://www.expressnews.com/sports/co...se-7224940.php

Totally disagree. In the beginning, I didn't like Pop at all. Now I think he is the strength of the franchise! Ask the players how they feel about Pop. He is the "Red Auerbach" of this era of NBA coaches!

I partially agree.

IMO, the Spurs have the individual talent this year to play with anybody, but their approach and mentality the last two years has been soft. They don't play as a team offensively anymore, relying on LMA and Kawhi iso's to score.

The record the Spurs and Warriors have is indicative of a lack of parity in the NBA and them winning every game they were supposed to win. I don't see the Spurs beating the Thunder or Warriors 4 times in 7 games.

Also not a band wagoner and also a ticket holder, but I have to be real about this teams ceiling. Hopefully I'm wrong and they put it together, but until they are out of the running GSG.

They cannot beat Golden State in a 4 game series especially not having home court. Injuries are always a factor at this stage of the season. Should be an interesting playoff scenario!

I think we can take OKC. However Westbrook really LOVES taking it to us. Kawhi can contain Durant. I think ideally perhaps the Clippers can surprise the warriors in the 2nd round and we advance with home court. I just think going after Aldridge we anticipated facing LAC again. Their 2 bigs killed us last year; we aren't built to compete with GS BUT stranger things have happened.

And Melonman, NO DOUBT about pop but at some point gotta start thinking about the future of the franchise. Plus it'd be a shame if this is Duncan And Gino's last year and we go out with a wimper.

If anyone takes over for pop, should be Avery Johnson imo.

Kawhi got defensive player of the year again and in last night's game - I know it was only against Memphis - but he got 3 blocks, 4 steals. (I'm hoping we've been seeing his watered-down defense over the season and that he wreaks more havoc here in the post season as most players usually do this time of the year. Plus, with all of that defensive effort, he still made 20 points against the grit n grind Memphis defense. Can't wait to see him go against Durant in the next round.

Well, Memphis was a sweep. Feel for the guys with all of their injuries but they get to focus on next season now while the Spurs are movin' on...

It's too bad we didn't get a bigger challenge going into next round likely against OKC. Gonna be a tough round for us in round 2 as Westbrook and Durant always show up to play us. Going to need to be on our game rest of the way if we are to get to where we want to go.

Well, well, well, and just like that home court advantage slips through our fingers in the 2nd round with that game 2 loss. Now it's on to OKC where we didn't win all year - just like at golden state.

Stay tuned...
