If you are going to the Shreveport area try priceline and book the Shreveport airport area.

Maybe NEAR the Airport area, but certainly NOT BY the airport it's self. Monkhouse Dr. is a hotbed for LE activity.

Pines Road area, the Casino hotels in both cities, and hotels near the Casinos are good. PM me if you need specifics.
