I don't think Obama is muslim

I don't like the storyline, however, that this is a right wing smear campaign...the muslim rumors started while he was running against Hillary Clinton. Do the math. Remember when '60 minutes' (hint: not right wing) first posed the question to her in 2006? She said 'I don't think so...as far as I know'...wink wink, nod...nod.

Like Galt, I don't like the word Neocon...because it is misused first of all (we have hashed that out in another thread)...and it is almost used as an 'in the clear' pejorative...like the term 'far left' liberal.

Back to the subject at hand - seeing that there was been no open campaign, and 1/4 of the population believe he is a muslim, Obama has a real problem (because likely 100% of that 1/4 would vote against a muslim). He has been trying to be all things to all people, and its not working for him....and he seems to have gone into a sort of vapor lock. Iran just went nuclear over the weekend. The Russians gave them the material. Obama doesn't know what to do - because any move he makes is looked at through the Israel vs. Muslim Iran lense.

Anyway, I would pay close attention to who floated the muslim rumors, the Kenyan birth rumors...and who just took a hard line with North Korea..to later make Obama look week and backpedal on carrier operations. Hillary Clinton's fingerprints are all over this...and its perfect. She gets to throw shit against the wall to see what sticks, and the republicans are left to clean up what falls to the floor. Obama is running out of people he can trust quickly. Who might have a pal or two at the NYT the get a poll done...Limbaugh? or Hillary?

And I really liked the posts where you guys basically said, "So what if he is a Muslim? Who gives a fuck?"

Obama is an AMERICAN. As much at the far right loonies try to deny it, he is. If it were up to me, he'd be an Atheist. But a moderate religious person of any sort is good enough to do the job.

Politically, I'm glad that conservatives are tacking to the far right. Hopefully some of them will actually be stupid enough to say that they think Obama is Muslim on camera. Michelle Bachmann, that's your cue!
