Lacy said it much better than I could. It is not because I am worried (usually) about who will be there or what she will look like. It is just the initial impression. And if you are worried about nosy neighbors or other hotel guests, it looks much more "suspicious" to have the door open with no one there, with the guy slipping in surreptitiously. It looks much less suspicious to have someone in clothes open the door and greet a visitor.

I know a few girls who have very elaborate rape fantasies (I'm sure there are guys too, but I don't know any). I'd be willing to bet there are a few folks who would get turned on by having the client come in through an unlocked door and drag the lady from her hiding place. Of course that would require a SHITLOAD of trust and planning.

There are a couple of providers who I trust enough that they can let themselves in to my place. Not that they have a key, or anything. But if I know they are coming over, I'll open the garage door and go back to work in my office. When they get there, they know they can walk in, get a drink or get comfortable, and then come get me. I never hid under the bed though...

I know for me I like the chat as it makes it "feel" better - not so business like and stiff. However, I know I have always been the nice guy and even in this situation don't like to make a girl feel like I'm forcing. So I appreciate it when the girl pushes things forward with a comment or touch to let me know it's ok to advance. It has happened, I know I will just talk the whole time for fear of feeling like I'm forcing. Of course then I feel like I wasted my time.
