You dont have to be the strongest you just have to be the best. Mavericks are NBA champs, and they proved themselves by pretty much blowing through the playoffs. Sports writers are lucky to even have a job because most of them have never played any organized sports. Sports writers and most other resporters say things to only sell newpapers or to draw attention to themselves.

to help prove your point, this is Brian Windhorst, ESPN assigned him to cover the Heat this season.....I am sure he never picked up a basketball but I am sure he has picked up his share of donuts.

Not being a huge Mavs fan, I can't cite stats or any other relevant season long data.
BUT the entire reason they play the damn game is because if they relied on paper like they do for fantasy crap, the pundits had the Lakers playing the Heat for the Finals and many of those pundits picked Miami.
Mavs SWEPT the Lakers, right? THAT had to leave a mark on many sports writers, especially given LA is the #2 TV market in the nation. While that was going on, Miami is pretty much cruising through the East not losing a game at home in the playoffs and won most series 4-1.
The Heat looked unstoppable and I have a feeling that the overkill on the press even hurt the Bulls who had not lost a game to the Heat all season.
So then they actually have to play the game and BAM! The Mavs win 4-2 and the ring.
If the Mavs had believed all the press and hype they would not have been able to show up and WIN the Finals.
It shows how well the entire team and especially the coach kept the team focused on one game at a time and didn't let any one victory or series go to their heads like it did Miami where they were celebrating as if they had a ring after each victory.
Look at the number of college basketball teams that make up the entire selection process for the NCAA tournament. ONLY 64 teams get selected for that.
There are only 30 teams in the NBA!
By the time you look at just the players who are even looked at and then drafted each year for the NBA, you are talking the top 1% of the top 10% of college players and the rare high school kid like Lefail.
That means the actual physical skills and abilities are really not that far apart for those who finally make the NBA.
It is heart and attitude that sets a team apart. Not just one or two superstars. Hell, in Miami's case, 3 superstars.
When Jordan was winning all his rings in Chicago, his attitude lifted those around him. Once he left, name one other player from those rosters who left to lead another team to a ring? Pippen? Not a chance.
LeFailure didn't lift Miami up, his attitude dragged down the Heat. And the Heat, no matter how skilled the top 3 players are, will never win until LeFuckup grows up and really understand that it takes more than being 7' tall (So is Dirk) or being able to hit shots. It takes heart and a desire to lift those around you up.
Weak? No fucking way.
The MAVS showed how strong they were by taking bits and parts and many older players that played as a TEAM that rose up and won it all.

Dude (TexRich) Colin CAN NOT STAND the Cowboys. I listen to him all the time, and throughout the football season he rips them seemingly every other hour. For every one good thing he says about them, there are 7 bad things.
I don't know what gives you the impression that he likes the Cowboys.

You can't forget about Robert Horry, aka Big Shot Bob, aka Will Smith. He led the Spurs and Lakers to more rings after he left the Bulls (and before that the Rockets).

Can you provide a source for when Horry placed for the Chicago Bulls?
I agree Horry was a great player, being only 1 of 9 guys in the NBA to have 7 rings and the only one that didn't play with the Celtics in the 60's but I don't see his career ever making a stop in Chicago unless I missed it.

I wonder how many rings LeCHOKE figured he'd have by the end of his career? He just finished his 8th year in the league with a whopping ZERO rings so far and after all the hype and blaming others when he played for the Cavs, it is starting to show that the issue was not the Cavs, it is HIM.

Just got my new LeBron iPhone. It only vibrates loudly since it doesn't have a ring.

Robert Horry never played for the Chicago Bulls he was a first round draft pick by the Rockets and he played his college ball at Alabama.

And he never LED any team to a title. Dude was the 3rd or 4th (closer to the latter) fiddle for every championship team he played for.
He was a pretty good player, but mostly pretty fortunate.
7 championships? One of 9 people to do so? That sounds....impressive. Hmmm. Outside of Bill Russell and any accompanying teammates from the 9-straight winning Celtics, who else has that many?

Christ Creed, it was a joke.
And yes LL, my bad on the team. For some reason I thought he was on one of the Bulls teams. I need to look over their roster, someone carried over.

Here's a great chart of who not only has the most NBA rings but also how many years they played and what teams.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...pionship_rings
Bill Russell is VERY impressive with his 11 rings all with 1 team, those Boston Celtics. Starting in 1957, with the exception of only 2 years, the Celtics won it all until 1969 with Russell.
1958 was the then St Louis Hawks and the Philly team knocked out Boston in 1967 and then won it all.

Lol.
You should know by now, Bolt, that internet sarcasm doesn't always transmit well.
Horry will make the Hof simply because of the fact that he has 7 championships. Beyond that, he was simply just a pretty good player.
