Screening Practices. I'm about to beat that dead horse.

No offense taken, darling. There are many ways to verify a gentleman's employment. I would never call up a guys' work to ask someone to verify his employment. Instead, if he has a direct line at his job, I can call the main switchboard and ask to be transferred to his line. Or he can provide me with a work related e-mail address and I can send him a discreet message that appears work related. I can also use any combinations of LinkedIn, Facebook, Drivers license, Work ID, current pay stub or company personnel directory to discreetly verify that he is who he claims to be. And yes, the gentlemen who do see me must supply this info, unless they have solid references. Otherwise they don't get to see me.

This may not be an apple to apple comparison, but consider this...when guys have a great experience with a lady, we share that info with the other guys through reviews and post in our private men's room so that other guys would know that the lady in question is good to go. If I needed a clarification on a particular provider, I would PM a fellow hobbyist and get the answers I needed. For the record, I have always gotten an honest reply. And also let the record reflect that nearly every woman that I've seen has been the result of her having positive reviews and/or recommendations from a trust worthy source.

So the moral of the story from my perspective is that to share info is a win-win for everyone.

How can a work verification be done without giving real life information such as your real name? If this were the case, then I wouldn't do it. However, to play a devils advocate, if by chance I worked in an office building I could give you the main office and conference room extention numbers. I have to admit the level of information I would give would be dependent on the providers reputatuon and the level of respect she has in the boards. Her reviews would play a large part in that.

I have been around for quite some time on this Board, and longer than that before there were computers and such. lol

Screening is NEVER 100% effective, however it is 99.9% better than if we didn't screen at all.
The object here is to play safe, and enjoy a variety of diverse women and men.

As far as screening goes, one can only hope that the lady with whom the gen't has used as a reference, will be willing to give one.
Not all providers are reference friendly as we all know.

Now guys, I will more often than not ask you for a work reference, if you do not have @ least 2 provider references who are in good standing, and are reference friendly.

I will NOT just come out and ask you bluntly or matter of factely about your job, but 9 out of 10 times I will get any info. I may need for screening by just speaking to you on the phone for approx. 5 minutes..

One would be surprised just how much guys love to talk about themselves and what they do. EX: If "Billy", calls up for an appt. he generally will volunteer info. like I work at the so and so in such and such, lol Then he will proceed to volunteer extra info. I didn't ask for, like, I am married, ect. and I HAVE NEVER DID THIS BEFORE".. YEAH RIGHT, LOL Okay....Hmmmm. but either way he has gave me the screening info. I needed to decide whether we would be a good match or not.

But there is not any 1 way to screen. But if it is done properly, the appointment should go off without a hitch, and you both will be happy. And that is the main goal here right??

I'm so glad I'm p411, in the beginning I gave RL info once, worried about it for months, if a lady needs RL info now, I just move on, usually my OK's are sufficient. Even with the multiple OK's I still ask if they checked with any of the previous ladies I have seen, most don't, they say my oks was good enough, it takes me a good while to pick a lady to see due to MY research of her. I do understand that a ladies "gut" feeling is very important, and I want her to be completely comfortable with me before we meet, but by taking my time I've been accused of being a "tire kicker", but that's ok.
