Exclamation Wichita Folks - I need help!
I have been a procrastinating fool! I arrive in Wichita tomorrow and have not done any research on areas to stay, areas to avoid, etc. etc. What seems to be the most convenient area to host in?

Also, I am debating on visiting KC again before I head home, but I can't find any straight flights from Wichita to KC. Is there some other way of getting from one city to the other (besides driving)?

Help!!

Actually Newton would be the closest station. But the eastbound train leaves there pretty late. You'd need someone to give you a ride there, as I think cab fare to Newton from Wichita might be a little pricey. Amtrak is smart enough to have the routes through Kansas run at night, since there isn't much scenery that's worth viewing anyway.

My driver told me recently that LE is watching a few hotels on West Kellogg, they are used alot by a couple agencies so the traffic has caused some attention by the Sheriffs Department.

Yeah, the Holiday Inn (formerly La Quinta) at Broadway & Kellogg is the known Ho-tel. Lots and lots of stings there on a regular basis. Stay away.

Thank you to everyone who commented here, sent me emails and called with information. I got quite a bit of it I did make it into town and just decided to take it one night at a time. If I get uncomfortable in a certain hotel I will just move.
