				 TARP

My opinion is that TARP likely saved the country from a depression.
Passed under George W. Bush with Dem support. We should thank him or at least acknowledge what he did.

I am a Dem but I am just saying that he deserves some credit.

History will show it was the right thing to do even though on principal I disagree with what was done. However the take over of several of the companies by bypassing 50 or more years of Black letter Bankruptcy law was and is worong. No matter the situtation, companies live companies die. Competition should determine that not the government.

I thought GB drove the bus into the ditch? Someone has told me that repeatedly.
Okay, you've made a statement now provide some kind of evidence.

Perfectly reasonable request that is opposed with insults. The question still stands whether you comprehend it or not. If someone thinks that something did something then there MUST be a reason why he believes that. It may be as asinine as "Barack said it and I believe it." So let me hear your reason (s).

I might be wrong, but I think he was asking for some supporting evidence of the original statement that TARP prevented a depression (assuming a depression has actually been avoided).
Speaking for myself, I think it's way too soon to make such claim. History will tell, but it will probably be several years before there is any concrete evidence one way or the other.

Well with Galts history of support for GW and all things GOP it was assumed he would agree with the thought. But either way its an opportunity to salute him, so Galt here is to you ... ..

DD, I haven't been on this site long enough for you to know about my objections to Bush over amnesty, TARP, the bailout, and his Supreme Court nominee Miers so I will forgive your really bad case of rectal-cranial inversion. But really, shouldn't you know what you are talking about before you post? Are you following in the footsteps of the great and impotent Obama and just throwing out accusations without proof?
FYI, I'm not a republican...I'm an American conservative in the mold of Jefferson, Franklin, and Madison.
