Thanks for the link, Elisabeth. The answers you got in Dallas seem to track opposite to the responses here in Austin.
I don't have kids so I can't say my distaste for the term is parental. More so, it reminds me of my own (deceased) father, and it reminds me of the age difference between me and the provider. I'm fine without either reminder.
