I am looking to change electrical service companies to save some money.
Have any of you changed and if so, who do you recommend.
I currently have TXU and was "shocked" by my most recent bill.

I used the power to choose site and use Cirro, been very happy. 1800 sq. ft. House, had 5 bills under 80$. Mild winter. Bill last month was 138$. 9 cnt per kwh 12 mo. plan. Some were cheaper, but read the fine print, they all have different add on charges. I fucking HATE Txu!!!!!

If you collect airline miles you can get double miles through certain companies.

The fine print is where they get you. The rate might be substantially cheaper than TXU but the add-ons might make the new bill higher than TXU. A popular spot to hide expensive fees is under the Delivery Charge. A friend of mine got a rude awakening there.

I used power to choose and went with Cirro Energy. The only thing I would recommend with them is setting up auto pay if you can.

I used power to choose and cut my bills almost in half from TXU. I will admit I was getting fucked by TXU because I never bothered to check over the years. Once you switch, you'll be amazed at the cash rebates/cheap rate offers you get from TXU.

Be careful on the website there are many that are close but not the real one. Shea's link is the one you want. I go for a 12 month contract.

I switched from TXU to Champion and went from summer time bills that were over $500 to summer time bills barely over $200. Just make sure to do your homework and you should be ok.

I've been playing (through powertochoose.org) the one-month promotional offers for several months. I've paid as low as 4.5 cents/kWh, and an average of 5.38 cents/kWh so far this year. In an all-electric house, every penny counts. You have to keep an eye on when your promotional rate expires, and plan your next switch accordingly, though, or you'll wind up paying a significantly higher rate after your one-month promotional rate ends.

I have been with champion going on 3yrs, haven't had a problem & bills are low. Even in loft with cathedral ceilings.

135.00 for the month of July, last winter highest bill was 230.00.
