UNLISTED NUMBERS!

I just had the unpleasant experience of watching my personal phone ring, coming from a number that I didn't recognize. When I answered, it was a very, very new provider telling me that some client had given her my unlisted number!! Sadly, this is not the first time it has happened… But it seems to get more and more irritating each time.

What the fuck?!?

I am extremely pissed off! If I wanted everyone in the world to have my number, I would publish it. It doesn't exactly seem like rocket science to me, but…

Let me explain, for those of you who do not understand – if a lady's number is published, it is okay to give it out for reference purposes. BUT - If her number is not published, you came upon it through careful and methodical screening, and it was her decision to give it to you – it is not your place to pass it along to anyone else!!!!!

I think you should further explain to individuals that do not know what information about you should they give ladies when using you as a reference. What do you request when asking for references?

I don't think it really requires an individual explanation when everyone can see that my number is not listed. One would think that the thought process would be, "Gee, there must be a reason for that."

The screening information I ask for from a client is not randomly shared with any other provider, unless that client has requested an appointment with her & he has requested my reference.

It seems to me that in this Hobby the general rule is to not give out personal information about anyone else in the Hobby to anyone. The nature of our play is BCD and discreet. I think in general that is the spoken (and unspoken) law of the land. Doing otherwise could be construed as a breach of (assumed) contract.

Agreed Ginger, this is all about discretion, I guard all info like Fort Knox and in return I expect the same. PM or email is the least and best unobtrusive way to communicate.

Ladies, something important for you to consider–– if you have been given my unlisted number by a client, how can you be sure that it's me that you are actually speaking with? My number is not listed anywhere for confirmation, so there's no way to verify that it is actually my number.

Only a novice screener would accept contact information given by an unverifued client at face value, without having the capability to double-check the accuracy of the info.

So, if you're not 100% positive whose number you've been given, how can you be 100% certain who are you really getting that reference from?

Don't assume that it's my number, unless I have provided it to you personally!

I totally agree, Syd. Respect is a 2-way street. I give it, and I think I have the right to expect it. Of course, there is a huge difference between expecting something and actually getting it.

That's a very good point Ginger about the number I always research the number the provider the client!!


But honestly at this point I'm sick of schooling!!! No one schooled me I lived and learned!!! Maybe that's what these girls need they will either sink or swim its not my problem anymore!! That going both ways Gents too!!!

I had forgotten about that site Ginger. Isn't that the same site with the videos? If you'll remember there's a choice of partners to do the demo. I'll have to research that link. Everyone could use a good laugh. Where's SNL and her internet research skills when we need her?
