My intention in posting this thread in no way reflects on any personal opinion about recent dramatic events. My intention was to focus on the impacts to our community at large from these events. With that said I have some further reflections regarding the dialogue thus far:

1. There will always be fights and drama in the world and especially in our little sphere.
2. Other than those with an agenda to harass or punish, no one wants to see things escalate at the levels they have. It hurts reputations, wastes time, threatens people, etc., etc.
3. There is ongoing controversy about the way the Board is being moderated.
4. Moderation is not mediation and Moderators should not be expected to do so. They usually have vested and personal interests since they often participate actively.
4. Mediation reflects nothing regarding being adults. Mediation is used more and more frequently among adults in adult situations. Witness the NFL arbitration, mediation in family disputes, mediation between courtroom situations, and on and on. Mediation is the modern replacement for fighting and grudges. It is a good thing.
5. The problem is not just this recent incident... as many people have pointed out. It has happened many times before and seems to be poised to happen many times again.
6. I totally understand people's needs and desires to protect themselves from lies and allegations, and in the current environment I realize they are compelled to respond to public accusations to protect her/him self.
7. Perhaps I miss the point, but airing grievances (such as not providing references or passing out bad information), to an arbitrator prior to it blowing up, in no way minimizes or reduces the severity or importance of the allegations of the grieving parties. In fact it will provide a platform to deal with the issues directly rather than passing threats back and forth. I am not suggesting this to Backdoor issues, rather I am suggesting this to help resolve issues.
8. I am in no way suggesting how this could be implemented. I am sure it will take money and resources, but that money and those resources are now being spent dealing with recurring issues that may not easily resolve themselves. Much better to deal with the issues early on, proactively.
9. This would also alleviate some of the responsibility and burden from the Moderators, as they will simply identify when an issue is getting out of hand and send it to arbitration. They will not be stuck in the middle of moderating among people they know and with whom they may have intimate ties. --- This will help resolve the ages old 'who you know' gets you privileges aspect in the settling of arguments. Penalties and points could be assessed by the mediators when they find that one or both of the parties has broken rules. And additionally they could further assess points when the recommendations are not followed.
10. So silly as the idea seems, I see no other better way of dealing with the many issues that appear to be arising. I admit, I am a dreamer and forward thinker, so sometimes my ideas appear in the sky.

IMHO the ladies make a very valid point here. Sharing reference information, amoung other information, is very important for the ladies safety but it is also important to me. I have recently read several posts about how to get started with no references, it's not easy to do. I personally put a lot of effort into getting references so I could see top tier ladies. I feel like a part of the agreement between the lady and the client includes her willingness to give the client a reference for future visits. If she is unwilling to communicate with other ladies and give a reference she has done the client a disservice.

Could things have been handled differently.......perhaps, but I am a firm believer that when a problem crops up, handle it........period. As a tike there was never a hesitation to firmly apply the board of knowledge to the seat of learning. There were times I had to stand in the corner and times I wish I had gotten to stand in the corner. This life we choose to participate in is full of pitfalls and it takes a community effort to avoid these pitfalls. One wild bovinae can stampede the herd, and the boss mares will discipline the unruly in a herd.

If a lady chooses to give her money to management, though it's sad it's her choice. It's my choice who I visit with, provided our schedules mesh. It is never OK for management to threaten or try to intimidate a lady in any way. As a human being how do you think you would feel if you were threatened by someone? Fortunately for one of us I've never encounted a manager.

From my point of view, I do not want to see the ladies argue, fight or anything other than treat me with a good time while we are together. Believe me, I know what all of you ladies are talking about with trading references. I was on the waiting list for a while before a reference went through when i started. It must be done! Top Tier ladies and gentlemen IMHO get this and do not drag too much of it into the light. Spirited defense of your rights or beliefs are welcomed and unfortunately personal attacks will happen. I'm a big boy with thick skin, and I can handle myself just fine. Will I choose not to see a provider based on my opinion of her? Absolutely. Will you choose not to see me? You absolutely have that right.
