Callie is right. I'm almost certain the guy didn't out her on purpose--why would he? Esp. if he's a long-time satisfied client? It's complacency & comfort, pure and simple. We get used to things & this life-style and forget to THINK. There but for the grace of God go I... on either side of this one. I can see being the BONE-head who did it, unthinkingly in a second of idiocy after having had a few, or being the "outed" one. Good reminder.

Now, ladies: if I see you in public, and you see me in public, and I'm ALONE, I'd be delighted for you to come up & say hello. I don't know how you would feel about it. On the one hand, I don't want to be a hypocrite ("HE'S the kind of guy who'll put his dick in you, but won't say 'hello' in public!"), but on the other hand, certainly understand the need for discretion. There is bound to be some sort of etiquette for this that balances it out, but I'm afraid I don't know what it is. So... ladies? What's the right thing?

The right thing is to ALWAYS play it safe - that if, don't even acknowledge each other. The situation may look OK, but you never know if a SO (of either party) is lurking nearby.

If you see a client in public don't even peek his way, you may think he is alone and he may be but the deacon of his church might be a couple of aisles over watching the whole thing. Just pm him later saying that you saw him but you're smart enough NOT to approach him in public.

damn - sorry that occurred. i don;t know you, but if your SO is still hanging in there good for you and him. i have been in a situation once where a provider and i were in the same place - i was with my family and she was alone. we made discreet eye contact, which i think is harmless especially since she was not dressed provocatively. everyone looks around the restaurant and/or bar ... sending drinks or notes or trying to say hi is certainly way beyond inappropriate.
