No, not really. What does that tell you? Perhaps it could suggest that sometimes you have to make a tough choice and listen to the brief uproar before things can get better.

I fear many here have fallen into the trap of debating the 'legalistic' technicalities with JaD and others. The bottom line is that the latitude exists within the guidelines to deal with the current problems; question is does the will also exist.

At the end of the day will come a decision as to whether the powers decide to take control or leave the mayhem unfettered. I hope what is happening is a business decision about which is the more sensable (read profitable) choice. Then those truly in charge will have to state that if you don't feel qualified to exercise judgment then you should step aside. FWIW...I could not more vehemently disagree with JaD's position throughout this debate. However, I do appreciate how maturely he has handled our disagreement. I have been repeatedly dealt with respectfully. I hope I have succeeded in doing likewise even when forcefully expressing my disagreement. Seems someone I would gladly buy a beer.

When the behavior gets bad enough, and they refuse to cut the crap? Yes.

It's like being in a bar - you're welcome to have a great time with your friends, but when your bad attitude starts to effect other patrons, at some point you're invited to either cut out the crap or leave.

And when the 6'6", 300 lb bouncer tells some smartass to cut the crap, he doesn't get into a lengthy discussion where the smartass tries to weasel out of the situation by being such a clever chess player. I think that's a trap that mods fall into all the time. Many of the folks who stir up trouble are doing so in order to show the world just how clever they think they are, and the back-and-forth feeds this need.

Point of order. Bars exist in the real world. This SHMB does not. When people get "bad attitudes" in bars, fights break out, cops get involved, the bar loses money. When people get a "bad attitude" here, threads get funny, the board gets traffic and your lil' vajayjay gets sore. See the difference?

There's no telling how many providers have been kept away from Eccie by the bad attitudes toward providers that are displayed here. And there's no telling how much business it's cost the providers who are attacked.

The feedback I've gotten from providers is that they're happy to be on the list, probably because a good number of guys seem to respect my opinions and use the list as some sort of a guide to find a great session. I also get invitations for sessions from providers who'd like to be on the list.

The list brings business to providers who I think provide great service. And it helps guys find providers who give great service. It benefits both hobbyists and providers. I feel confident in saying that overall, the list is a good thing.

But go ahead and mimic DH in trying to spin it into a bad thing. As I recall, he did that last time I criticized some of his antics. I guess for some folks, what you do matters less than who you suck up to. Sad.

Fair enough. As long as we're speculating, why not wonder about how many providers have stayed away from ECCIE because they don't want to be reviewed, or because they find the idea of interacting with their clients outside of work repellant, or because they don't see the point to having their ass kissed but a bunch of limp-dicked, 40-somethings? As for it "costing providers business", it comes with the territory. This is an Information Exchange, not a classified section. If her interactions on the board are costing her clients, what would a rational person do? And so what if it costs you the opportunity to meet a provider? If this is the only place you're getting your poon, then I'm sorry for ya... There are other boards, other classified sections, other ways, other places. To be honest, ECCIE isn't even an effective tool in my hobby arsenal. I come here because its entertaining.
