Absolutely not. But when I get landscaping done or plumbing work or housecleaning, I most certainly negotiate. Those who don't are fools, IMO.

I guess you don't really understand the difference between a product and a service.

That said, you may ask any of the providers I've seen about the money I paid them and practically every one of them will tell you that I gave more than the advertised rate. But that's my personal preference...I don't bemoan those who are trying to stretch their hobbying dollar.

What exactly do you mean by this? Do you want to pull out your big penis and compare that too? Or measure the square footage of your house? Or how awesome your watch is compared to mine?

I thought I left high school a long time ago. Evidently not.

I would never begrudge anyone for attempting to negotiate a better price for something if both parties are open to the idea. You generally do not negotiate for a single meal at a restaurant, but it is very common to negotiate a price for a large group or volume purchase from the same place.

Part of the issue at hand is HOW the negotiation might take place, but make no mistake negotiations can and do happen in this thing of ours. To ridicule others for these attempts is frankly quite white knightish and blatant brown nosing.

My business is Service Oriented. I offer a quality service at a fair price. If anyone try's to haggle me my response is " I'm not the cheapest in town nor do I want to be. I provide a top notch service for a fair price" if you want cheap then look elsewhere ". Before you say it. My business is booming and I don't ADVERTISE 95% of my business is from referrals. I find it insulting for some asshat to try and haggle my prices. And your analogy between services and products is weak at best. Even with your so called products "service" is part of the price. Ie. Cashiers, stickers, cooks, waitstaff. So you are also paying for service even if it's a one time purchase.

So is mine. I also feel I provide a premium service compared to what many others provide. That being said, I don't get "insulted" when someone wants to bargain because I know full well many others in my industry only have that going for them, that being price. I kindly explain my advantages and why I feel they would be better served buying from me at my price. I do this almost daily. I used to get annoyed about it, but then I realize I could be digging ditches in Texas summers.

If no one else negotiated in my business, yeah, I might not take as kindly to people wanting to get a bargain. But my business is what it is, and bargaining happens. Same with here. It happens. Some people choose to attempt to negotiate a single session and a single fee. It works for some and others (as we can plainly see here) get a rep for being cheap with the ladies. You can have a bit more tact and still negotiate. Perfect case in point, the .6 BnG thread. Bottom line, that is a negotiation. Someone is offering up a price they are willing to pay and someone is willingly accepting.

Am I cheap for wanting to take advantage of a special by InfamousBJ? Call me what you will but she is still the best BJ (and one hell of a cool chick) I have ever had in this hobby.

Ask yourself this:

Is it bad form to negotiate an all nighter? How about a weekend (multi day) rate. What about an unposted rate?

Where you draw the line is up to you, but don't be naive enough to look down upon others for trying to stretch their hobby dollar.

What about this, Mr. Texasquest, et al.? Is this negotiating?

Or what about this scenario, for those who think negotiating is only about being cheap:

I once negotiated a 90 minute rate from a visiting porn star. I believe I paid around $900 for that "negotiated" session.

Being cheap?

I dont see anything wrong in asking if a provider is offering a special or discount. But if she says no, either move on or pay. I think the issue is when you try to go back and forth.

I agree completely. If a provider I want to see is out of my budget, I will tell her and ask that she let me know if she ever feels the need to offer reduced rates. I do not consider myself cheap, just limited. Any further discussion about her rates is just disrespectful.

.

If a SPECIAL is offered absolutely take advantage of it..thats not the issue..the issue is people who constantly "HAGGLE" prices..inquiring if specials are available is one thing..Demanding cheaper prices because your wanting something you cant afford..or wanting to buy champagne with a Beer budget is another...I have no problems with accepting Specials ..Most business's offer Specials from time to time for a Myriad of reasons..But if the Special is over dont go in demanding it just because your a TightASS..Is like going to a Restaurant and you only have X.xx amount of money..T-bone cost XX.xx and round steak costs X.xx ..Then demand the T-bone for Round steak price just because they ran a Special last month offering T-bone for X.xx...IF you cant afford the posted prices either move on and look for something within your budget or dont play that day and save up for another time.

Some people just see us as a service...Or a sex robot. We are human beings. Haggling is tasteless. By all means, take advantage of our specials. Personally I didn't mind when I was emailed/pm'd asking if I was running specials, but do not counter-offer our rate with a cheaper one and a promise of a "glowing" review. We set the rate, you either pay it or move right along and find another girl.

It's really pretty simple

So, it sucks to be you, right? Go get that filter installed, sport. Negotiate with whomever you want however you want to do it - no permission needed from any of us here - but show a little common sense and do it in private. Just be aware that all things have upsides and downsides.

You really seem to be missing the concept that many here have presented due to you disdain for anyone who YOU feel has engaged in "haggling". Perhaps you aren't comfortable in a negotiation, on whatever the service may be, and therefore feel someone must leave a negotiation on the short end of the stick.

A good negotiation means both parties benefit and both parties move their "xx price for xx service/product" to find a common point at which both parties are satisfied.

You also keep looking at this as a "can't afford it" situation.

So, I ask again, do you have an issue with negotiating when a lady opens the door to such negotiations? Hell, some ladies even put "price negotiable" on things such as multi hours, overnights, etc.

Throw out the OP activities, because you have attacked more than just him; You just seem to be demonizing the act without thinking it through.

If you would go back and REREAD my respomses I already said "If a SPECIAL is offered absolutely take advantage of it"...If the lady "opens the door" to negotiating price then absolutely its ok ...But to ask for a deeply discounted session in exchange for a "Glowing review" is an example of what i find distasteful..
