"Swattings", the practice of using police to roust citizens with false reports of shootings continues. As happened in New Jersey and California, CNN conservative blogger Eric Jackson found himself facing drawn police weapons when someone called in to local police the tip of an accidental shooting resulting in the death of Jackson's wife. As the story goes, this has also occurred to two people who investigated the Congressman Weiner case.

Some could easily be killed responding to armed intruders (local police) with this stunt. Eric Holder is refusing to take the matter too seriously even though this is a felony.

Today is “Everybody Blog Brett Kimberlin Day.” Before this week I had no idea who Brett Kimberlin was, but thanks to the efforts of Michelle Malkin I do now.

So who is he? Her’s how The Blaze summarizies him:

• Drug dealer, alleged child molester, and convicted perjurer, forger and Indiana Speedway Bomber (who is also believed to have played a role in the assassination of a grandmother), Brett Kimberlin spent 17 years in prison before his ultimate re-absorption into American society
• He started a non-profit dubbed “Justice Through Music (JTM)” that has, since at least 2005, been funded by George Soros’ Tides Foundation and Barbara Streisand among other leftists
• Along with his associate, Kimberlin also started an organization called “Velvet Revolution” that supports the Occupy movement
• JTM’s goal is to use music to foster “social justice” and fight Republican “voter fraud” (like the kind George Bush allegedly used to “steal” the Florida election)
• Any blogger — conservative and liberal alike — who has written the truth about Kimberlin has come under vicious attack by either Kimberlin or his minions, suffering death threats (veiled and unveiled), multiple lawsuits, loss of jobs and worse
• He has filed over 100 frivolous lawsuits against anything that isn’t nailed down and somehow is being allowed to continue unchecked
• This story has never been reported on in the mainstream media

What's the going price for a crank call? Are the 3 that have happened enough for a bulk discount?

If you bother to read the story lines you will see that this guy has a legal slush fund to file legal motions against bloggers, forcing them to defend themselves.

His funding comes directly from Soros as well as Barbara Streisand. The Obama Campgain, Obama DOJ, and Obama supporters could easily pull the plug on this guy, but they won't because he serves their purpose of using the courts to silence the opposition.

A couple of things.
This is a matter for the local authorities, not federal.
Another is the link you provided said the blogger in CA faced drawn guns, not Eric Jackson. The deputies pulled into his driveway. Jackson had warned authorities this may happen.

Which raises the question why would he be concerned about this when it has only happened twice to bloggers connected to the weiner case? Sheriff deputies said the call came from the house’s phone number.
