Lucky for me I find fast food disgusting. If I'm going to eat a burger, it's going to be a real cheeseburger. I also don't drink anything but water and alcohol. I stopped drinking sodas of any kind about 5 years ago. You're right though, it was eating all the unhealthy delicious meals (large portions in nice restaurants) & no time to exercise that helped put on the weight. I also agree with you that it was my laziness (I was too stressed with my career) to have the desire much less the energy to work out. Now, with all the energy I get from the IsAgenix supplements, I want to work out again. I'm not ready for my trainer yet, but, I know I'll be ready in a few weeks. Oh, and I guess I forgot to mention, my diet is more burning fat & building lean muscle, so not necessarily only losing weight.Quote:

We tend to overheat, and we have a are time trying to break that habit, so people try to switch to lower calorie "healthier" foods where they can eat more and take in fewer calories, it's called volumetrics. It's much harder eating 1/4 of a Quarter Pounder with Cheese (125 calories), 1/4 of your large French fries (125 calories) and 1/4 of your large Coke (75 calories) to get a 350 calorie or less meal than it is to eat one full Chicken Tikka Masala from MyFitFoods for the same calories. It is possible though, it just takes willpower, which most fat people don't have. Knowing this, people tend to "overeat" using "healthy foods" with a lower calorie per gram ratio to try to stay under their daily calorie limit.
So, two things. One, whether or not you "like" something is irrelevant. You either eat what you want and suffer the consequences of not being able to eat very much in a day because of the calories involved, or you adjust your "likes" and "dislikes" to fit your idea of what of want yourself to be. Two, eat whenever you want, just make sure that if you do, you leave that extra space in your calorie plan by eating less during the day.

I've started my exercise/nutrition regimen couple of months ago and pretty much buy fresh veggies/meat every day just for that particular day.

It takes time and planning and in my case I am actually eating MORE food than i did before, since i don't want to just drop weight, I am trying to build muscle mass.

Lina: Yes, that would be the perfect solution. I too have to eat more smaller meals a day for the same reason. I forgot to mention that in my original post, but, I don't have the patience to go shopping every day, lol. Good luck with your regimen.

I'm not here to give out tailor made diet plans to people, as everyone's different and everyone has different goals. Go to a registered dietician for that. I started this to simply illustrate how easy it is for everyone to simply lose weight.
As I said, total body health is outside the purview of this thread...

I am kinda lucky i guess that the stores i have to go to are within one block vicinity from my gym. So I just stop by after work out.

Waking up to empty fridge also makes me go out in AM and hit the gym lol

Ha! Yes, indeed it was and since I stumbled across this hour long thread, I decided to put some of my own experience in it. By the way, it was a rhetorical question: I'm my own dietician and that's why I know what regimen works for me. Evil grin!! |

Who cares about any of this shit. It is much better to treat your body like an amusement park to fill the void in your miserable, shallow lives because you will probably be dead soon enough, or get cancer, or have a bunch of shitty little kids that you really don't like and regret having anyway. I guarantee you will not look back and be happy you kept your caloric intake under 1300 calories a day or some shit like that. No chance! You will look back and say "glad I did this/that", "glad I traveled there and did that", "I can't believe I had an orgy with those two strangers I met in Chicago", etcetera.
So here is teh only diet advice anyone needs: put down the hot dog, eat a fucking carrot, and be none the wiser. If this does not work, well I offer these comfort words:
If you are a fat and ugly girl, don't worry because guys will still fuck you.
If you are a fat and ugly guy, don't worry because all women care about is money anyway so you can buy a hooker, girlfriend, a wife, or a sheep if you are from Alabama.
If you are a poor fat man, WORRY because you are fucked and women will despise you.

Ever met anyone on their death bed and heard what they regret and don't regret? Your statement may be true for some but not for all |

Few years ago I had a "pleasure" of loosing every material possession I had and spending 6 days in coma. So i guess I kinda can answer this question.

When "got back" and learned about my situation, I did have regrets. My regret was about all the shit I bought in years prior to the accident as opposed to spending that money on experiences.

Since then i buy what i NEED vs what i WANT and spend my residual income on things i will remember vs have.

Fat people have been "ignoring" this issue for years, and in fact, have been actively trying to convince the rest of us that to "ignore" it as well. The purpose of this thread was to illuminate the underlying problem, to stop "ignoring" it, and to stem the tide of perpetual forgiveness for being obese. It's not alright, it's not attractive, it's not healthy, it's costing the rest of us money, and you will die prematurely because of it.
Have fun sticking your head in the sand to "ignore" it and hope it will go away while of feel good about yourself...it won't work...

Actually people who do NOT lead healthy lifestyle end up costing us less money - they die younger
That said, everyone has their own "trigger point" and no amount of telling people to get on the treadmill is going to make them do it.

I had interesting conversation today. On my way to gym run into ex bf who now lives 2 blocks away from me and belongs to the same gym. He and I dated about 10 years ago, things did not work out but we remained friends. He is now married and has a kid. I met his wife on numerous occasions and she always seems very happy with herself and her life.

What do you know? He asked me to help him get her on work out/diet regimen. Apparently she is extremely unhappy, has serious self esteem issues and refuses to do anything about it. In public she maintains "i am happy the way I look" attitude but in private is making his and her own life a living hell.

She may be not happy but she won't do anything until she reached HER point when she starts taking some action.

So now I got new work out buddy who happens to be wife of my ex. Life can be funny at times

The public persona and the private persona can so often be very different.
Good luck. Whip her ass into shape.
