I believe the general consensus was, threADS are fine.

It is not my intention to speak for fritz and his discussions on this subject with St.Christopher......I can only speak to my conversations with St.Christopher concerning threADs.
threADs are acceptable as long as they are not blatant reproductions of the Provider Ads......with one very important difference.......and read this part very carefully.......
A Provider Ad stands alone without any commentary from the peanut gallery......a threAD is fair game for the masses........it is posted in the "discussion" area of the board......and thus, open to discussion to everyone.

Absolutely correct. They were too heavy handed but also in a very biased way. They got their hands slapped for it and the weakest linck was culled from the herd.
Some of the bias still exists but now instead of doing something wrong they are doing nothing at all. While it is a tremendous improvement in moderating technique there is still much room to grow.
