I dont get the fascination with 5 guys at all. Burger Boy, C Madrids, Sam's has the best bacon on the burger in town, if you like bacon try Sams. Longhorn is my most frequent.

No love for Timbo's....... Hmmmmm.....

And oddly enough, Teodora's Mini-Taco on S WW White makes a surprisingly good burger.

Also, has anyone tried Big Lou's Burgers?

I'd have to nominate fattys burgers off of commerce on the east side of 281 before the cemetery. The best Burger I've ever had. But babes old fashioned food on fredericksberg also makes my list.

Well do they have 50/50 out here? In S Cali they make burgers that are 50% beef and 50% bacon? They also have bacon shakes LOL
So over here on the NW side of town what is the best burger place? I'm close to Medical Center.

There is a Chester's near IH 10 and Wurzbach Road. It is on the eastbound side of IH 10 right before you get to Wurzbach Road.

I made a pretty bad-ass burger at my house the other day. This puppy weighed in at over 2 pounds, and was eaten across about 3 meals! Basically, it was a combo of pork an lean beef blended together and bound by an egg, and some bread crumbs. Just enough to hold it together, and not make it into a meatloaf though.

Then, I flattened out two patties and put a mixture of bleu cheese and sharp cheddar on one paddy, threw in some lightly grilled fresh jalapeno slices, and then placed the other atop it, crimping the edges to make a sealed unit which look like a UFO.

Then, I grilled that beauty on the BBQ pit over some hickory, oak and charcoal until the inards were starting to bubble out ever so-slightly.

Then, I placed it atop a large, thick, piece of sourdough bread which I pan-grilled with some colby, placed the meat monstrosity atop the bread, topped that with onions, mushroom, bell pepper, and jalapeno which was grilled/sautted together to perfect unity, add some tomato, pickle, mustard and ketchup, and I had a hell of a feast! Like I said, I couldn't take it down in one sitting.

It lasted over several meals, and damn was it good! I like the idea of doing it again only topping it with an onion ring and BBQ sauce like the burger Dennis talked about. If I didn't swear off the bad food for my diet, I would try an encore, bu it will have to wait!

Yeah they serve a damn good burger but you'd better have some time to kill.

My vote goes to Chesters.
