IB, there is NO justification for NDAA, and besides, there is enough evidence to convict them all even if the late Johnny Cochran resurrected and represented them. But they do make it harder to oppose the NDAA, that is for sure.

If the shoe was on the other foot would Republican Senate automatically sigh everything a Democratic House sent them? Given the Republicans history of holding fillibusters in record numbers against Democratic proposals I think not.

They can't vote on them? They can't amend them? They can't counterpropose? Is the Senate supposed to sit on its collective ass and do nothing until the House sends them something that the Senate will pass without debate or amendment?

Both sides are to blame here. They aren't even discussing the budget. The President hasn't even proposed one, as far as I can tell. That's leadership?

This is why we need to end the two-party system. The argument isn't about what the budget should be, but who should be in control. It's bullshit. Democrat bullshit and Republican bullshit.

Take a look at the voting record of the 110th Congress. The minority republicans imposed cloture 108 times against Dem proposals.

Its called Bolck and Blame in the political arena.

The current House is sending proposals to the Senate packed with their pet projects and know full well it will wind up back in their laps to be reconfigured or eventually die without a vote.

I ask everyone again. Were it a Dem House and Republican Senate, would the Republican Senate sign everything (spending/budget related) the Dem House sent them?

Republicans failed to pass budgets in 1998, 2004, and 2006. The Congressional Research Service noted in a January document that "Congress has adopted 39 budget resolutions during the 35 years that the congressional budget process has been in effect. At least one budget resolution has been adopted every year except 1998 (for FY1999), 2002 (for FY2003), 2004 (for FY2005), and 2006 (for FY2007)." Republicans held House and Senate majorities in 1998, 2004, and 2006.
