Here is the deal, most lurkers, those who read the boards but don't actually register and post a million reviews tend to be more discreet, and generally much more respectful.
Whereas you might get some guy who posts a million reviews and thinks he is "god" on an escort review board, who thinks he carries some kind of clout and persuasion with the other hobbyists, can treat a lady differently and use his "infamous board persona" to try and scare a lady into doing something she isn't comfortable with, or get freebies, or haggle, or blackmail or things of that nature. Wow, that was one long sentence! lol
I am not saying that all hobbyists do this but by design the system has been abused. You just don't have that problem with a lurker at all. If a lady chooses to do an activity with a lurker, something she normally wouldn't do at all with most, where she wants it to remain private and discreet, a lurker is not going to rush home to post a review that he got that activity. A lurker isn't going to say "I can write an awesome review of you if you do X,Y,Z for me, and make you lots of money if you give me a discount". Reviews are often times held over a ladies head.
So I think that is where Maggie McNeil is coming from.
