Gotta get back in the wind. Been promising myself another motor for a while now. Even put money down on a Buell 1125 before realizing that's too much for a cruiser like me. Eric's shop promised 175mph when they got through with it and that's about 100mph more than I need. Debating whether I'd have more fun with an UltraGlide or a cruiser, but that decision usually makes itself when the time's right. Looking for a deal. Just gotta find another poor joker going through a divorce or getting out of jail.

1973 Norton 850MK3, its like a problem child. The bugs are gone, the bike rides great and is so fast most Harley guys cant believe it.

hd, around 1974 had a friend with a Norton Combat. We used to ratrace the roads around Luckenback before Jerry Jeff wrote that song. Yeah that Norton was quick.

The Norton 750 was definately THE BIKE. The 850MK3 had an electric starter, and a new kind of suspension that eventually Harley Davidson started to copy. My Norton only has 26,000 miles which is nothing for a 1973 Model. I plan on keeping this bike awhile longer, I see a new company has bought the name Norton and they are trying to market the brand. Its like the brand Indian, the name is the same but not the bike.
 Ride safe out there.

Yeah, Norton's patented "Featherbed" suspension. One thing I remember was how loose that engine sounded when it ran. All kinds of mechanical clattering and grinding. Like all Brit bikes it took constant maintenence, but I never remember it leaving him walking.

Sierra977 you are right about the maitenence. I had that bike worked on more times than I care to think about. But its been running great for the past 20 years now and I might not ride it very often, but its a thrill when I do.
