Default Interesting Situation

Ok now. So sometime back I am a the gentleman's ballet here is town and meet this hottie who does some interesting moves in the private corner we have appropriated for ourselves. We had a great time and lots of fun conversation as well.

She tells me she is in school and working her way through by dancing. (Sure I've heard this before no big deal) But I listen and wish her well.

So I have a lecture to give this past week at a college I am attending for my PHD work and lo and behold who is in the front row to listen to my lecture! Ok so now I have to chastise myself for my initial disbelief of her furthering her education. I can do that. No problem.

Here is where it gets interesting though. I manage to put hers, mine and our past sins out of my mind and give a really good lecture. The class was very involved and afterwards asked great thoughtful questions. During this period though she was very focused on my and I could swear buttons we disappearing on her blouse. Then afterwards as the class was leaving she approached me and asked for further instruction.

I am very tempted to do so. After all this is college and I am not faculty. I am just doing some of the requirements for my degree, but thoughts of additional tutoring are going through my mind.

So then...... should I private tutor or should I pass?

".....Yesterday the student - today the professor....."

I heard that in law school somewhere along the way and I do not foresee any inkling of quid pro quo!!

What an excellent opportunity for tutoring. You can even offer a discount.

Keep us posted on your continuing education experiences. (in and out of the classroom)

Sounds like a potentially hot and exciting situation....

However...like proceed with caution in the sense of boundaries. Sure, you knowing her dancing background plus whatever moves is all well and good adds a new realm of the naughty school girl/prof fantasy and it could be really hot... as long as BOTH of you have a mutual understanding of what it is and what it's not.

Hopefully she wouldn't cry wolf but mixing the two worlds, especially in a professional setting CAN have it's consequences.

Play safe

rakhir, first let me congratulate you in reaching Graduate School, I would've never guessed you were working on your PHD so good luck with that.

IMHO, I wouldn't push any ethical boundaries if I were you. Your mentor has put you in a position of great responsibility and trust you and it would seem to me that the possibility of this blowing up in your face or at the very least causing class disruption is to great a risk. You do realize how important your relationship is with your mentor don't you?

It sounds like fantasy to me, maybe you should leave it like that. GOOD LUCK!
