Question Men's Locker Room feature.

Mods please move to the appropriate section if this doesn't belong here (but I do have a valid reason to post in this section).

Mods can you please tell me if we can start a thread in Men's Room with a password protection to it? So that only who knows the password can see whats going on? Poster who creates the thread should control the password and can pass it on to others so that the people who knows the password can enter and comment/discuss the issue? For other (who doesn't have password) should see only the subject and the user who created it.

If the above feature is not available right now...can we add it?

No, it's not available. No, it's not something I think we can or should add.

I don't think that's a good idea, since it would only encourage cliques to form. Next thing you know, every thread in the Men's Lounge would be password protected, which would defeat the purpose of having restricted access to the Men's Lounge to begin with. This site is for everyone in the hobby, not just those that are regulars and such, and should benefit all. If you need to send a message to specific people, then you can always use the PM function. I do think that the idea of having access to the Men's Lounge requiring multiple reviews wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Note: I'm not trying to criticize you...just based on my experience and knowledge.

Come on man...is there a definition for 'restricted access to Men's Lounge'? There are some girls (to my knowledge 2 are for sure) have fake ids with 'Premium Access' and knows everything about whats going on in Men's room. To other girls (who are sincere and doesn't have access to ROS and Mens room) my sincere apologies and I'm not pointing to you....try to understand my (our) frustration. Because of these two many men are afraid to post the reviews and discuss anything in Locker room.

I have read some of those threads discussing this, and I agree that maybe some change in policy would be an improvement for the reasons you have stated. My only concern would be that the Men's Lounge would potentially become too restrictive, and not friendly toward newbies or casual hobbyists. Couldn't private discussions be made via PM and sent to multiple handles?

Ultimately, I don't think that there is any avoiding the infiltration problem. If there are providers spying on the Men's Lounge, then I think that's pretty petty and immature. It's probably even worse if there is a White Knight to spy on a provider's behalf. It's not like the discussions in the Men's Lounge are all that interesting for the most part.

I probably could have elaborated more, but I'm pressed for time at the moment.

I thought when I read the title of the thread, that you were advertising a "feature" of our KC locker room, like a wet bar or a mountain view. Or, in our case, clandestine visits by the ladies!

It may seem petty and immature to us hobbiests, but this is a business and making a living to the providers. In that perspective, it could easily be viewed as a necessary tactic.

Sorry, but there's no reason why a lady should be spying in the locker room just like there's no reason for a guy to be spying in the powder room. But, we all know there's always going to be leaks. A guy will feel the need to be a white knight and a lady will feel the need to be a the tattle tale.

A person's insecurity and paranoia is what drives them to do that act.

The guy's who let the ladies see what is said in the LR need seem sense smacked into them. The lady is just using them for that info and nothing more.

The ladies who give info from the PR to gents are just trying to ruin business for the other ladies and in doing so they just may end up putting that lady in danger.

This is a business and spying in the LR shouldn't be viewed as a necessary tactic. That's what reviews are for. If the lady gets a bad review, then she should find out what she's doing wrong and try to improve from there.

Guys shouldn't be afraid to post a bad review or let their opinions be known in public. That's what this board is for. If the ladies who do receive a bad review come out and "attack" the poster, then the guys know who to avoid in the future.

Exactly thats what my point is. If you run your business in a proper way..every thing will follow you...and you don't need to follow Men's room.

A few will "attack" the reviewer by PM, maybe several times, knowing that he will get penalized if he reveals the content of a PM. This move prevents the board from seeing how she really responded. She can keep smelling like roses on the board, while dropping thorns privately at the source of the unflattering review.

You're correct that the hobby, at its core, is merely a business like any other. Due to the legality issue, aside from intervention from LE, it is a pretty good model for laissez-faire economics. The provider offers a service, and the rates are essentially dictated by market demands (quality of service, demand for the service, risk of the service, etc.). If a provider offers a poor service, then the customer will look elsewhere. Similarly, the provider has the right to deny a potential customer of service, for whatever reason. Good business thrive and poor business go bankrupt.

Both the provider and the client have every right to share their experiences for whichever reason they wish. This could be a poor service, an overpriced service, a good service, a good deal, or a dangerous situation. Everyone here should accept the business aspects of the hobby.

Spying on the clients is simply childish. If a provider wants to have a good reputation, she must earn it and maintain it. Similarly, if a client wishes to be provided with a service, he must maintain his side of the deal.

If a lady has to "attack" a client who posted a bad review of her through PM's so she can keep her "good rep" on the board, it'll eventually come out from other avenue's. The truth always has a way of coming out.

I would ask the lady to stop PMing you and forward them to a MOD. Also, you can always ignore the PM's.

If you wish to keep it off the board so you don't get in trouble for posting a PM, back channel it. There are ways of letting it be known on a board of the harassment without actually saying it.
